Turkey would be in violation of Montreux Convention if they did, and the UN would not approve.

Russia owns Turkey now although Erdoğan may not realize it yet. He's in for a surprise when Putin springs the trap.

We should ask Crimea how much UN disapproval is worth in the real world.

    Probably.
Why not ask Irak what they think about it instead. The U.S. invaded Irak illegally and murdered a million innocent Iraki men, women, and children not to mention the torture at Abu Graib and Guantanamo. So don't worry ..... Turkey is not going to push Russia around no matter what the U.N. says.

Is it just me, or does that seem like extremely modest damage for an "airstrike"? It looks more like they ran over a spike strip.

    This:

is what a vehicle should look like after an airstrike done right.

Looks to me that the Turks put the lug nuts on "finger tight" before they went out on patrol ..... and that's the results of the 'wobble'.

We'll see how well those supplies help when COVD-19 sweeps through. Any hospitals that are still operating (or the ones the vatniks didn't destroy), aren't even close to dealing with a virus like that. Hopefully Assad gets a dose and died a quick one.

What a strange post - but, worry not - once this Turkey situation is dealt with - and the US presence removed - Russia and China will start rebuilding - the sphere of influence expanding to include Syria - Iran - Iraq.

Seems unfair that we spent Trillions in the Region and Russia gets the return on our investment.

    That's what losing looks like.

Egypt closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping.
Not even America did anything about it.
That started a war Egypt badly lost.

We agree that, while Turkey has a decent army, I doubt they would do well against the Russian military.

    What's strange about it??

Next door in Iran it's almost rampant....LOL.

Once Turkey is "dealt" with and US "removed"?? Good luck with that....it'll be fun sending vatnik body bags back to Moskolia.

Turkey can move unlimited amounts of hardware into Syria. 30 dead Turks? How many dead Syrians? 300+? Along with some Russki advisors maybe. You lose mac.

It is strange that you are gloating over the spread of Corona.

The US presence in Syria is illegal - as soon as Syria takes its territory back - our troops will look pretty stupid still sitting there.
Turkey wants to protect the remnants of Al Qaeda/ Al Nusra in Idlib - and to deal with the Kurds.

That's one heck of a cluster fk. - this issue will prolong our presence - but things are coming to a head quickly - neither Russia nor Turkey wants direct conflict but neither will back down.

At some point things will be resolved - we will leave - and Russia - China will get to rebuilding - same with Iraq. Vatnik made some good moves on the geopolitical chessboard - We spent 6 Trillion - they go in and reap the reward.

You are way to mired in deep partisan blindness to even see the board but, just thought I would describe the position to you :)
