What you don't know is there has been a cold war going on in here between Atlanticists/globalists and Eurasianists/Patriots. What you also don't know is Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) along with its many institutional branches are with Eurasianists because TSK naturally is patriotic and is for "independent sovereignty". So it doesn't matter what politicians say, what matters is who's in control in the field, and that's without a question is TSK ! There's no turning back to globalists after July 15th coup attempt. That ship has already sailed off litwin...

Sultan Erdogan must be admitted into the psychiatry anyway ... no matter what the idiot says, there comes only sh ** out and unfortunately the ISIS does not make any attacks on the right people.

But interesting that here his cuddling with Putin is probably finished.

    Of course...
Erdogan fears the referendum and to loose his power in general. Also his dreams of a re establishing of Ottoman Empire are melting like Ice in the Sun.
    And internally ...
He has, among other things, fired more than 100,000 civil servants, teachers, soldiers, policemen, judges, prosecutors, and other state servants after the coup (+ many others have a profession ban).

Question: Who is doing their job now instead? Very often people, who have no professional knowledge about, but are Erdogan fan, respectively, AKP party member, which is now sufficient as professional qualification to do the job.
I think you can imagine what the public life in Turkey looks like when ... exaggerated ... a cleaning woman and being an ACP member with 2 semesters of law 10 years ago is now the new chief prosecutor in city "X" and how happy the Turkish population is about it all in daily life which of course not messed up with this all.

Turkey is since decades in cold war with Syria and when in 2011 Arab Spring happened in Syria with the following civil war, Turkey was happy of course.
But ... didn't you notice the change of relationship of Erdogan with Putin some weeks later after the Turks shot sown illegally the Russian Jet. How often visited both each other in full harmony etc.?

Those TSK members who have been imprisoned are CIA linked FETO agents and accused of treason. They are only 3.000 among 550.000 military personnel. Not 300.000, not 30.000 but 3.000, less than 1% ! So you do the math.
Yes, we don't fully support Erdogan, that's true. We support him as long as he complies with Turkish national interests and national security. I don't think supporting the US dirty agenda in Syria would have anything to do with our national interests. It rather "harms" them. We should stand with Iran-Russia and Syria if we want no puppet states on our borders.

I think Trump's latest move can be an advantage for Eurasian bloc as it, I believe, may help Iran and Russia to understand that situation in Syria can no longer be handled with hypocritical approaches. Both have to be more transparent and determined about cooperations in Syria. They have to act in more cooperative ways and have to prevent Turkey being in support of US agendas. To do that, they have to revise their current positions and have to give up on some gains they've been seeing as bargaining chips against Turkey because both got no credit left for distancing Turks.

Iran and Russia I think made a crucial mistake by underestimating the opponent's intelligence operations. I know it was hard to expect double agents having infiltrated into Syrian military this successfully while Russian and Iranian intelligence have been on the ground for so long but still, there's Mossad, MI6, CIA, Saudis and Qataris all working together for you to blunder. Now Syria ended up with losing a significant part of its airforce in a very crucial spot. We'll see strengthened US proxies in Idlib which means heavy clashes especially with Iranians. Time will tell. One thing's certain though, no side can talk about any cease fire from now on.

    100%.

litwin, Turkiye is a different land. We have different realities and very strong dynamics that both push for action in certain direction which is definitely the direction of Turkish national interests. You seem puzzled, so I repeat: what politicians say "DON'T MATTER".

There's only one way to make Turkey change its course back to globalists: "Invasion of Turkiye resulting with an absolute defeat of the TSK".

And that is my friend simply impossible today !

only Chechen or North Korean satrapies can produce 100% results . Turkey isn´t there yet(?), i hope never will be.
doesn´t what Ergodan said today is an indicator of this change? or you think tomorrow , Ergodan will provide to Assad total support , and go against entire western world?
well, i see what you mean, but no one is gonna give you Syrian Kurdistan , its just a fact , there is no way back , much like with Kosovo...so maybe its time to comeback to the realistic politic?

    Lol...

    You asked me:

To rephrase the question, I was asked; what % of the Kemalist army generals I think would support my view about "the ineffectiveness of Turkish politicians' rhetorics when it comes to make a certain foreign policy shift".

    And I answered: 100%.

    Now you're telling me:

Top Turkish generals don't think politicians' rhetorics are enough to make any change in course of the country's foreign policy because almost all of them were assigned by the measures of "merit" and "loyalty" after the coup attempt. In other words; "WE GOT RID OF THE ATLANTICIST GENERALS who were selling our country out to the Americans and replaced them with loyal soldiers of ATATURK" !

What's making it so hard to understand?

    Damn...

By the way, why? Why he is so despised by foreigners? He spent less than three years being a president.
