We tend to take it for granted that the constant companions of Jesus were as historical as Jesus, so how is it that St. Paul seemed to know nothing about them? In the Epistles of Paul, the backbone of Christian origins, there is no evidence of their existence except for one instance that is considered a late insertion. Is this wild, weird, or what?

Not to worry. Allegory stands on its own merit, regardless of possible pagan roots, starting with twelve signs of the zodiac. Compare with twelve Elohim (creative forces of the NT), Jacob’s twelve sons, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve world creators (Tien Hoang) of China, twelve causes of being (Aditya/Nidanas) of the Hindus, twelve Titans of Greece, and twelve Aesirs of Asgard in Scandinavia.

Moreover, Peter, son of Jonah, was called Cephas (stone) by Jesus, supposedly speaking in Aramaic, perhaps a hint of Cetus, the whale that swallowed Jonah. James and John were sons of thunder (Boanerges), taken from the Greek Cyclopes, fire gods, two of whom were Brontes and Arges, the thunder and lightning of Zeus. Judas fell headlong, burst asunder, and all his bowels gushed out (Acts 1:18). Elsewhere it is stated that Judas hanged himself. St. Paul didn’t know what fun he was missing.

Right , Cephas means stone in Aramaic while Peter (Petros) means stone in Greek, maybe Jesus was a hipster ?
James and John are always together and always James is mentioned first , this is the case of Castor and Polidefkis ( not sure of English spelling ).
*Cetus is the "trunk" of a boat or a ship .

I think that the christian sects tried to combine the metaphors of previous literature with jesus.

    fine work

How about another idea? The four colors of mankind, 3 from each makes 12 and a foot washer (13th), enables the 'name' of nature (god itself)
    i get this:

matt 16:23 and he having turned, said to Peter, `Get thee behind me, adversary! thou art a stumbling-block to me, for thou dost not mind the things of God, but the things of men.'

    YLT

or in king james version it's even uglier

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men

i guess there are bunches of variation as to the 12. I like my idea as it makes sense, to what i intend

I'm pretty much sure Peter and Paul met each other or wrote letters to each other during their time on Earth. They both ended up in Rome so they might have met each other there. Anyway, all the symbolism in the Bible doesn't mean that it isn't true.

The Apostles met Mary. John the Evangelist took in Mary after Jesus' death and took care of her until the end of her time on Earth. This is mentioned in the Bible.
