Who was he laughing at though.

Maybe Trudeau's eyebrow fell off again, or Macron was singed from running through a burning Paris to get to his plane.

Sadly, it looks like the communists in the UK are getting pretty nasty in the streets...

The UK never bought into it and was always a road block, prevented reforms, or demanded exemptions, or special treatments etc.
It was in the EU for nothing more than economic reasons, for the benefits

The outstanding news is, the SNP gained more seats in Scotland and the Cons lost seats. Scotland voted EU.
    Same happened in Northern Ireland.
Will Scotland get an other referendum and will Ireland unite.
    That is outstanding news ?

Scotland absolutely seems headed to another separation vote.

    Not sure about Ireland.

The UK Deep State failed in their attempt to overrule the will of the people.

    OMG... lol.
    "sooner rather than later" Really?

The EU has been waiting for the UK for years and years for the UK to be "this soon".

This is a thumb in the eye of the lefties in the UK. So funny to see the shock of liberals that they have been rejected!

The left (labour party) supported a 2nd referendum, in order to get Brexit done or not. They weren't opposed to Brexit. They just had a different plan. The entire deal of how to leave the EU.... specifically... HOW... and no party having a majority is why it took years.

Corbyn did everything possible to block Brexit then he wanted to hold another Referendum. You can't just keep holding Referendums until you get the result you want. If you ask the people what they want you do your best to deliver.

Corbyn didn't even try to deliver and ultimately he lost.

Remember who you are writing to. They have absolutely no idea what the EU is, what happened since 2016, or what article 40 is and or what happened since it was invoked.

The overall reaction in Europe is positive, finally the UK has a government with a solid majority and might get Brexit done.

They do not understand, that Europe has moved on, over 2 years ago, since article 40 was invoked by May. Since than the UK had no say in the EU.
They probably do not know that the EU had elections and the pro EU parties gained in strength and that voter turn out was a record.
They do not know, that Europe moved to gather and all decisions concerning the Brexit had 100% vote.

They are just trumping along, without understanding and knowledge.

Nope. They are in favor of a Brexit, but not the way Johnson has in mind. And it was all in the way that no political party had a majority meant that nobody got their version of Brexit voted in.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...n-labour-second-referendum-some-way-off-backs

Jeremy Corbyn has said a second referendum is “some way off” and that Labour still wants to negotiate a better Brexit deal, resisting pressure from shadow cabinet ministers to commit to campaigning immediately for a public vote.

You do not get it. It was a English vote, with the Walsh, Scotland and North Ireland voted different, their National Parties won big, they are pro EU.
Johnson has the majority to deliver a Brexit, but the UK will be seriously split and might loose parts of its country.

Trump wanted Johnson to win. He has a serious problem with the EU and hopes he can weaken the EU with a hard Brexit.
I do not think a hard Brexit will happen, it would be very bad for the UK. A soft Brexit will tie the UK to the EU, it is its greatest market.
The US can not replace it, what ever fantasies are out there.
There is one other problem. Up till now the EU has done all the trade negotiations for the UK, for over 40 years. The UK does not have those experts any more employed and their stuff. It will take some time to produce or hire those experts.

    Good luck

The NATO summit is a laugh in itself.

the NATO mission ended a long time ago. We have the UN....we don't need NATO anymore.
