Yeah I'm talking about the group of people who live in those neighborhoods I would not want to live in and how they live as a group.
A prejudice to living in their neighborhoods and how they live in those neighborhoods as I said in my example.
Are you trying to make their lives more difficult as a result of your feelings? Do you hate them? Definition of bigot : a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
OK so if I don't want to live in one of those neighborhoods then it is not about bigotry, if I don't want to associate with the people living there because of how they live is not bigotry, if I don't want to start a business there it's not bigotry. Right?
Right. On not starting a business there. But perhaps if you don't want to associate with any of them. For now you lump everyone who is living there as all being the same. Which of course, is not true. But it's your perogative.
Right what on a starting a business, if I don't want to invest every penny I own in a business in those poor unkept higher crime areas THAT is bigotry? And my judgement is based on what is before my eyes and ears in those communities. Are you saying you have never driven through a community or area and thought "Glad I don't live here and I would buy a house here"?
oops, no, you are right to not want to start a business there. I have driven through places I would not want to live, but I don't want to live there because I am intolerant of the people living there.
Its not bigotry its class discrimination. Based on income some people do not get a choice but to live where their income will provide housing. Unless someone is a miser, if they can afford better they wont live in an old, dilapidated, low income area.
That's not entirely true depending on the business model, especially real estate. Lots of rich people have made a killing in low income areas, especially from housing. Of course you have to have the right capital to consider it, poor people unfortunately are easy to take advantage of due to their financial circumstance.
What is the distinction you are making. The "bigotry" is based on the "discrimination". It's about my choice.
What? You show a disdain for the people who live there, how they live, so you don't want to live there. Isn't that a form of bigotry?
There are always exceptions but it's the majority who drive the living standard, the quality of life of the community. I live in a nice, crime free, clean community with nice stores and good schools. I choose to live here because of that.
Yes it's a choice and by discriminating in your choice is that a bigotry. The point is the word "bigotry" is thrown about as an automatic claim of a racial bias. Many times it is not and based in other factors.
This doesn't reflect world wide, and the bad message comes from liberal and societal bigotry.. How many times have we read poster here claim people of faith are bat **** crazy. Only insane people believe in someone that doesn't exist!! Children in society are "Sadly" packet in with these Godless offspring of the now "Cancel Culture" and peer pressure is a bitch, isn't it!
It reflects in Europe too. The more advanced the society the less religious it becomes. People learn to think for themselves.
disdain? How so. Where I choose to live is bigotry to you? Most everyone can choose where they live. OK, most everyone is a bigot per your logic.
It does reflect in developed nations. Developing nations are the only ones keeping religion on a global level from falling. As to claims that this is due to “cancel culture”, I haven’t seen anything that would indicate that is the reason. With more education and understanding of the natural operation of the universe comes less desire to attribute everything to a deity. I would argue that the hostility many of the evangelical extremists push onto others has accelerated this decline, at least in the US.
So you don't consider some of the bigoted posts on this site towards religion and those Christians and others of faith.. I guess it boils down to selective reading or biased interpretation I guess
If I don't want to invest my money there because I have reason to believe it will lose money is that bigotry? I want to buy a house and rent it out, I don't want to put in that neighborhood is that bigotry.
I didn’t say that. I just don’t believe those posts caused anyone to flee from religion. Reading comprehension please
That I don't want to live in that manor in such a community, maybe disdain is not the correct word how about total dislike or desire to?
