I hope there are some reasonable explanations coming soon. If anyone has any information on how or why this is happening, please speak up. Is this martial law? I am really confused on this one.

The video claims the US government is doing it but the incidents in the video point to state and city police committing these crimes - while one of the Fox reporters claims Loretta Lynch does it as well, he fails to provide any evidence. Anyone with any common sense knows the feds do not control highways except and cannot levy for unpaid taxes unless they are excise taxes - those are BUSINESS, not personal taxes and will result in forfeiture of business, not personal property.

Therefore, do yourself a favor and do not believe in the Fox right wing propaganda.

the first story, taken from CNN, cuts off the story before we can get any details about what is going on.

the 2nd story LIES, by saying there is no Due Process from Civil Forfeiture. This is 100% false, as you can take the police to court to get your posessiomns back if they have been seized.

Thirdly, the Federal government stopped cooperating with state civil forfeiture, two years ago. Obama signed into law.

Fourth, what the (*)(*)(*)(*) does this have to do with "martial law"???? Martial law is when the military takes over all law enforcement duties from the state and local police. None of these stories have anything to do with the military.

Convince Congress to pass laws banning asset forfeiture. I'm sure they'll put aside important work like investigating email servers to address this.

You do know that police departments regularly seize property with no due process? It's been done for years now. If you walk into an airport with a thousand dollars in cash it will be seized...and you may or may not get it back.

 

first of all, civil forfereiture has been going on for decades. its nothing new.

secondly, there is ALWAYS Due Process when a law enforcement agency confiscates any of your property.

you may not like the speed of the legal process to contest seizure, but it does exist.

third, Obama ended Federal participation in highway civil forfeiture, 3 years ago.

 

Asset Forfeiture has been around a long time, but the drug war brought it new notoriety, and mucho dinero for the various police authorities.

Institute For Justice has been fairly successful with law suits against the practice, but the police still like to steal money and assets from innocent citizens. No moral conscience for them.

Government worshipers believe there was change because their Highest & Holiest told them so. And, where you got the idea that they "stopped cooperating" says volumes about how little Obama-lovers pay attention to what's really going on. They cooperate fully with state civil forfeiture, they just no longer engage in "equitable sharing". That means, in some cases, they won't be sharing any of the seized assets with the department(s) that seized the assets.

His All-Merciful Wonderfulness did not stop asset seizure. If anything, it's continued to grow as much under his administration as it has in any time since the War on Drugs began.

 

The fundamental ignorance of a proud voter and Hillary supporter when it comes to what is due process, not to mention the contents of the 5th amendment is scary. Unfortunately, it's not at all surprising.
