You jumped into a conversation on abortion .. the topic of which was - when human life begins or rather - when does a human exist .. a Person.

The claim on the table was that this person exists in the zygote stage of human creation == If you believe the soul arrives at a different point along the path to Personhood .. By all means ... the floor is yours :)

We're not talking the pain of the woman, it's the suffering of the child that is killed that is the issue. There is NO WAY you can change this horrible practice into something benign and acceptable.

Your hyperbolic rhetoric and self-serving presumption is thinly-disguised rabid Statism.

The Texas Taliban's seizing control of women's wombs is surrender to extreme Statism under which intrusive dried up old bureaucrats and political geezers could order abortion as well as proscribe it.

Rather than the State inflicting such an impersonal order upon American citizens in such a private, personal matter, respect that American's freedom to control her own womb in consultation with loved ones and trusted spiritual and medical advisers.

Children that are wanted by their parents is a vastly superior alternative to State-inflicted ones.

Fanatics pretend that even microscopic amalgams of a few cells, devoid of any semblance of a brain, are actual people and presume to speak on their behalf to promote their own agenda.

Yes, few as late term abortions are, and taken under extraordinary circumstances, fanatics attempt to inflict State control on women from long before viability.

The Texas Taliban is hellbent upon inflicting State Control over women's bodies in the most private of decisions, depriving them of their right to consult with trusted loved ones and spiritual and medical advisers in making informed personal choices.

The rabid Statists might wish to consider supporting freedom, as Canada does - where the bureaucrats do not impose their dictates, and yet, with no intrusive governmental enforcers, the incidence of abortion is comparable to the U.S. (Of course, unless the Statists incarcerate everyone who becomes pregnant, women will still avail themselves of their autonomy without registering as a statistic.)

Canada has no legal restrictions in accessing abortion services. (As a medical matter rather than a political one, few providers in Canada offer abortion care beyond 23 weeks and 6 days.)

The rabid Statists merely make abortion less safe while failing to inflict their control over women:

    Screen Shot 2021-10-31 at 8.12.54 AM.png
THE STATISTS' ATTEMPT TO CONTROL WOMEN IS FUTILE:

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported on the number of abortions performed in all countries, whether abortion is legal or illegal. According to the World Health Organization findings, the legality of abortion across the world has little to no effect on how many abortions occur every year. The legality of abortion, however, does affect the number of safe abortions women are having.

In a 2020 IPSOS poll, 59% of Canadians said that abortion should be permitted whenever a woman wants one.

The Statists are rejected in most advanced democracies:
Women’s right to have an abortion is most widely accepted in Europe, with 80% saying it should be permitted. Sweden tops the ranking with an 88% acceptance rate, followed by Belgium (87%), France (84%), and Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Spain (83% in all three countries). Outside of Europe, abortion is most widely accepted in South Korea (79%), Australia (78%) and Canada (77%). (https://www.ipsos.com/en/globally-seven-ten-adults-favor-allowing-abortion)

In the Americas, Statist prohibition of abortion access is most virulent in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic - the nations that the Texas Taliban and their fellow zealots attempt to emulate.

Worth noting that by OBSTRUCTING access to abortion in TX they are ENSURING that there are going to be even MORE "anchor babies" born to IMMIGRANTS from those nations whose economies were destroyed by St Reagan.

A double whammy of the Law of Unintended Consequences will be BITING the TAXPAYERS of TX for DECADES to come.

IRONIC that YOU are the one who is embracing EMOTIONAL rhetoric about a MEDICAL PROCEDURE to remove a DECEASED fetus.

In FUTURE kindly REFRAIN from PROJECTING your own "EMOTIONAL" issues onto others.

The majority of abortions in 2018 took place early in gestation: 92.2% of abortions were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation; a smaller number of abortions (6.9%) were performed at 14–20 weeks’ gestation, and even fewer (1.0%) were performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation.

Since your focus is upon the 1.0% of abortions performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation, please provide your data concerning the circumstances that occasion those abortions, particularly any that are undertaken with no significant medical justification.

Why are liberals so nuts over abortion? Do they lack basic human skills such as resisting temptations? Is unprotected sex without pulling out THAT important to them? Is wearing a condom and taking the proper precautions asking THAT much? It truly is pathetic. It’s just a way to where they don’t have to be responsible for their own actions. Ungodly behavior is what it is.

Patriotic Americans seek to protect liberty, and guard against the Taliban propensity to inflict rabid Statism upon women whom they respect as intellectually and ethically capable of making personal choices in consultation with loved ones and trusted spiritual and medical advisers, rather that have invasive bureaucrats impersonally dictate to them.

Is such freedom from government coercion worth defending? Some clearly think so.

I find it disturbing that having the freedom to abort fetuses is so sacred to Democrats.

I find it disturbing, disgusting and Un-American that destroying women's rights is so sacred to Republicans.

    :) :) BTW, Republicans have abortions, too :) :)

You listening to the SCOTUS argument on Texas SB8 going on right now?

I gotta tell ya, these are HARD to follow for the layman... I get almost nothing out of these oral arguments... they are on a level far beyond most citizens...

    Good audio though...

Republican women don't have abortions. Their children are ripped from their wombs by liberal doctors without their consent or knowledge...

Or so they'd like to have you believe...

Your hyper-partisan misconception is misplaced. If there is an ideological antipathy to statism in reproductive matters, it is a principle of libertarianism

Principle of Libertarianism you say .. !? Seems Republicanism has something to say on the topic as well - as per the "GodFather of Conservatism"
    • "I am a conservative Republican, but I believe in democracy and the separation of church and state. The conservative movement is founded on the simple tenet that people have the right to live life as they please as long as they don't hurt anyone else in the process."
(in a 1994 Washington Post essay)
    • "The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others,"
    • "I don't have any respect for the Religious Right."
    • "Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell's ass."
    • "A woman has a right to an abortion."
That same year Senator Goldwater complained at length that :

but hey .. the Blue Partisan should be happy .. Abortion is the Achillese heel of Red - along with other select religious right issue - all of which turn off the non - ancient demographic .. resulting in a demographic time bomb.

K7UGA clearly found the statist Taliban fervor for dictating to women repugnant. He stood for personal freedom and opposed an intrusive bureaucracy:

    AUG. 7, 1992

Former Sen. Barry Goldwater, the father of modern conservatism and a Republican elder statesman, said Thursday that his party’s strict anti-abortion stance threatens to leave the GOP in shambles.

In a letter made public in the U.S. capital Thursday, Goldwater said in referring to President Bush:

“If an attempt is made to include his position in the platform, my prophecy is the convention will go down in a shambles, as will the election.

“If the President believes that the introduction of his position before the platform committee at the convention will result in nothing but smooth going, he’s as wrong as wrong can be,” Goldwater said in the letter to Mary Crisp of the National Republican Coalition for Choice. The former Arizona senator is on the group’s national advisory board.

    https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-08-07-mn-4874-story.html
Barry Goldwater was a Republican Arizona Senator and US presidential candidate in the twentieth-century whose policies supported the women's reproductive rights movement... Throughout his life, he worked to maintain personal liberty and to limit governmental intrusion into citizens' private lives. Goldwater, influenced by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Goldwater, supported women's rights to abortions. Goldwater's advocacy and support for reproductive rights assisted in the foundation of the Planned Parenthood chapter in Phoenix, Arizona, and for national policies promoting birth control and abortion rights.
