    Good news for environmentalists.

I am not surprised by this news. Wind is the most efficient renewable energy source. Trump is a business man. So, why wouldn't he support wind energy?

I hope they find a way to keep birds from being chopped up by the windmills.

It seems to me they could at least install small whistles on some of the blades, the way they do on cars to warn off deer.

Interesting how when there's a once a decade oil spill the left cries crocodile tears over dead birds but when wind mills kill thousands of birds every day they say so what, who cares.

Of course all the intellectually bankrupt, willfully ignorant lefties are ignoring a win for environmentalism that is attributable to Trump's policies.

    He supports whatever works.

I'm sure liberals will start calling him a bird murderer or something though over this.

And more people die due to medical malpractice than firearms, but that doesn't stop the constant whining from liberals on that front.

I'm reading a lot about how Trump is against renewables. I think he favors what works and is not so expensive that it is unfeasible.

How do you arrive at that conclusion?

Wind will never be more than a band aid. You couldn't build enough wind mills to make a serious dent in US energy needs. You would need a one wind mill for about every square mile, to replace the energy derived from oil.

Alternative fuels are the real solution. And they are FAR more efficient than wind.

1 acre of algae can conservatively produce 3500 gallons of fuel per acre-year [some companies are talking about over 2 times this rate of production]. At around 34 KW-Hrs per gallon, that works out to 119,000 KW-Hrs per acre, or 29 KW-Hrs per square meter, or an average of 3.3 watts per square meter.

    For wind
...an acre is 4047 square meters, so the power density works out to be about 0.7 watts per square meter. By comparison, direct sunlight averages 200 watts per square meter around the clock, around the year, around the US.

And unlike electrical power, alternative fuels can be used in planes, ships, trucks, industrial equipment, as well as cars.

It is entirely possible to completely replace the energy from oil, with energy from algae. We dedicate more land than would be required, to grow corn.

And alternative fuels are carbon neutral. You only release as much CO2 as was absorbed from the atmosphere to grow the algae.

Wall, the Kennedy's are having none of it out on Martha's Vineyard.

But some regular folk some place else will probably have to accept that batch of windmills.

Yep. NIMBY. We do have windmills here in east TN though. On top of Windrock Mountain I see them every time I go out.

Who does everyone in your power structure work for? Don is not a bidnittmang, he's a rotten little trust fund baby with a toddler's emotional develpment.

I hope that all communities can benefit from the adoption of wind power in federal waters. Even those who don't want them in their back yards. Like the Obamas off of the Vineyard....

Something has to be invented so fishing craft and small coastal craft can economically navigate in fog. That's when windmills turn into an above water minefield. Shouldn't be all that difficult.

Most I've seen have been in southern Minnesota about as high up the state as Rochester running about parallel to the Iowa border. But looks like you have your fair share.
