Looks like 2022 is shaping up to be a "red wave". It's not terribly surprising that the Democrats are looking at losing seats in 2022. That's, historically, how mid-term elections go. The likelihood of a historically large defeat does seem to be growing though. I wonder what posters here on either side of the aisle attribute that to. From my view, trying to push radical changes with razor-thin Congressional margins always seemed ill-fated and likely to backfire, but certainly Biden's mis-handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal hurt them, as well as his inability to curtail COVID-19, even with the vaccines available.

The thing is, neither party has the answers. Whenever any party is in power, Americans realize they don't want that party in power anymore. So, we have this back and forth pendulum that never ends. Whenever one party wins power they arrogantly believe they will be in power forever, only to find out that Americans don't want them anymore and the whole process just flip flops throughout all eternity.

The democrats are losing Latinos and blacks, which astonishing considering how much pandering they do to attract them. I guess some folks have a lot of pride and don’t want to be considered victims from the day they’re born who need help to succeed.

Also, it may take a while, but Americans are sick of the woke-a-holics and cancel culture. No one like a small minority calling the shots for the majority.

And finally, Brandon is working overtime to make sure republicans gain more voters. Thanks.

I view it as the American people just don't want their government doing a whole lot. They prefer gridlock to uniparty control. Almost whenever one party does manage to win everything, Americans promptly correct the situation at the next opportunity.

Exactly. The Americans that count at the polls don't want one party control. They DO view nothing being done as better than one party getting their way. Trouble is, neither Republicans or Democrats seem to be able to figure this out. Mitt Romney said it best recently when he said Americans elected Biden to end the one sided madness and since Biden doubled down on one sided madness, his approval numbers have collapsed. Americans elected Biden to end the divisiveness, not be a transformational president.

You're taking the fact that more people in the US now identify as Republican than Democrat as proof that Biden won (which is something we all know anyway)?

I think you're missing a few steps in the process here - care to explain?

Americans Elected Biden because he WASN'T Trump...
Americans Elected Trump because he WASN'T Hillary...

The 2024 Election will be more of the same.
    A "Lesser of Evils" Election.
Where the Election is not decided by who the people want (but, Who People Vote AGAINST).

I think the shift is because we’ve all gotten to see the results of a completely incompetent administration at work. The only reason Biden won is that he isn’t Trump. The Dems could get away with kind of campaign by keeping him holed up in his basement. But, now Americans are horrified to see the real Biden, the idiot they put in the White House, for the bumbling fool he really is.

While the last few election choices have been horrid, I can go back many decades in complaining that the two main choices are lesser of two evils option. Fact is, only a stupid moron would even want to be president in this day and age. Anyone with even half a brain is smart enough not to actually seek this abuse on themselves. Moderates have either been fleeing both parties or been forced to walk the gangplank for quite some time now, leaving only the idiots left, which is what we get to choose from.

It shows a big dem advantage in early 2021 which fits with the election results.
And you may know Biden won, but many posters here do not.
