Sagging pants are like a big sign around your neck that says, "I'm a moron."

Mock: to attack or treat with ridicule, contempt, or derision.
    http://www.dictionary.com/browse/mock

No intention to mock, yet you use words such as dumb, ridiculous, autist, stupidity.

Thin eyebrows, big overblown hair (long and with loose waves ... especially on women over 30), high heels, strappy dresses, low and V necklines, bare legs with dresses, suntans, skinny jeans, and anything at all which is remotely suburban (ie, 'fashion for the masses').

I do not recognize you as one who speaks for all. I take your dodge as an admittance that you cannot or will not back your claim that "There is absolutely no intention to mock anyone". Perhaps the humor forum would be a better place to lampoon others for what they wear.

This goes for men too tbh; dressing "out of your age".

Lol, I actually like all of those things on women.

Seriously, robin...wtf? If you happen to like any of the things I have posted, then it is fine. I won't think of you as less worth of a human or anything like that. Now you have a choice to participate in the topic or just **** if it triggers you so badly. :)

If participation is mocking people then no, I will abstain. If the topic allows for the exploration of why some mock others for what they wear in the absence of harm, then I have some questions for you.

    JESUS!

This is - obviously - not a thread for intellectual debate. Everyone who has posted so far perfectly gets the point and it is only you looking to a pick a fight over an innocent topic. Calm down, m8.

Obvious would be this thread in the humor section, which I tend to avoid as I am here for serious debate and leave my humor fix to watching comedians on Netflix or YouTube. I find you fascinating and a conundrum as on one-hand you claim that "I do not really give too much of a poop about how people choose to dress, they are free to do as they please as far as I am concerned" then on the other hand you mock the styles that some people wear. If you as you say "do not really give too much of a poop about how people choose to dress", then why mock them?

Again I do not recognize you as one who speaks for all. If you tire of our dialogue then all you need to do is quit responding. It is not as if I have the power or authority to make you talk to me. If you keep responding I will likely continue to ask you questions as I find your conflicting claims fascinating and am looking for you to reconcile them.

I am not here to pick a fight, I am here to learn and think that there is something to be learned by talking with you.

I love women who take the time to make themselves up. Love the fake eyelashes too.

I suppose if you like getting makeup all over the place! I think it's too much. Too much fakery. Too much makeup.

I saw a woman the other day with the drawn on eyebrows, but hers were much darker than her hair. She must have used really dark brown or black eyebrow liner and it looked just ridiculous. She looked like a clown or something. What are they going to put makeup on next and WHAT do they look like without all of that crap on their faces? I mean, I like makeup too, but too much is too much!

How do you feel about fake hair? I never understood why women put that in...Why cut your hair if you want it long?

Fake hair can look ridiculous sometimes.

Generally, I would say it is only 14-18 year old girls who wear too much make up. Older girls usually have better control and perception of what is too much and what is enough. :)

Most guys are probably clueless on this matter anyways. They will say they prefer girls with little make up and post and example to which some girl will reply "That's not little make up, she is wearing a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, j, k, l and m!" :p

People had a much better fashion sense in the 20's-50's; looking at old photographs, I am always impressed by how elegantly and stylish everyone seemed to dress. The people even seemed a lot prettier back then (especially moviestars and singers) :p

Today, everything is just upside down.

I'm a poster who's going to Buckingham Palace tomorrow for a Garden Party...
It's not me, I'm a plus 1, all I have to do is treat my own grandmother like the Queen of England (She's 92, my Nan) while she meets Prince Harry tomorrow. - In doing that I've rented a suit, bought dress socks, shirt, tie, handkerchief and cuff links...
I hired a 2 piece lounge suite and just had my hair cut for tomorrow... All in £250.00
I kind think suits are cool... A nice suit feels alright, imagine how nice it'll feel if it wasn't a rental lol.

    I have some
    [IMG]
Still in the box, unused, but if they look silly,
I'm not sure if this is a dress shoe, I bought these last year.
It's really nice though, I think they are though.
    IDK?
These nice shoes with a nice charcoal grey suit? (Only suit I could get in my size (I've put on some weight, I'm now a waist size 36")! at such short notice/Friday).
I've got a pink tie and matching handkerchief with a white shirt because I didn't want a grey tie with a grey suit or to be political or have black or white because it's a party and I'm working with a grey suit, have something that clashed with grey, and then I looked at every mannequin, until I found one that was my colour, and... made sure it wasn't for weddings only and went with it, it was a neon pink tie, white shirt, same shade grey suit.
A little flamboyant but, I can be. Whatever.

I didn't want green because I'm not Irish.
    I didn't want black because it's not a funeral.
    I didn't want white because it's not a wedding.
I didn't want silver because it clashed like a blue.
I didn't want gold even though I didn't see it.
I didn't want red, blue, or yellow because they are political
I didn't want purple because it was too dark
I didn't want light pink because it's not a wedding
(Which was an issue when settling for the shade I did was, not to make me look like it's a wedding)..
I was tempted to go with Orange but; too political, it's a gangster colour in Thornton Heath for a gang from here, I'm not going to the Dutch Royal Family I'm going to my own)... So I settled with what the mannequin had for my rental charcoal grey suit - The name's Of Life, The Rhetoric Of Life, shaken, not stirred.. J/k.

I am certainly no fashion guru of any sort and mostly do not care at all for cat walks and haute couture; I will wear whatever I find nice. Because of this I can not really provide an objective answer (the one rooted in "codes of fashion") to your questions.

However, my subjective preference is that a gray suit with a white shirt and a red/pink tie is a great combo. You will be just fine. :)

Although, I am not too sure if those shoes really qualify for "dress shoes"(?) But I have absolutely no idea about these kind of things as I never find myself in fancy settings like balls and parties with the Queen.

Here's me in my usual casual jacket, track pants, trainers, obligatory baseball cap, carrying an exciting military-style rucksack and swaggering with insolent arrogant body language..:)-

Don't worry about it, you look cool.

Do you think they'd notice if I do

    instead of
    [IMG]
    ?

I can't find one of my practise ties...

I'm pretty much screwed then having to learn on my new tie when I get ready.

    44 minutes later edit;

In my head, when I first read it, I got to stage 7 and I said 'Then go back in time' *like time travel followed by 'I give up'; It seemed hard and complex.

But now in my head I'm looking at the same thing going hold it out at 4 to go 5 through 6 then 7 through 9 is wrapping it all up and 10 is taking it home and 11 is 'park it'..

I see a difference between affecting clothing items generally associated with youth sub-cultures (which is a quasi-political choice, or at least a cultural one), and 'trying to look young'. The latter being a whole other box of monkeys, and a grotesque one at that. Far more obnoxious than simply affecting a cultural style.

PS: you and I wouldn't agree on much when it comes to females, in that case. I can't stand that very outdated, suburban look. It always seems terribly trashy and low class.
