Apparently this gear is sold out in the States. Very good if you need to go out. Source Peak Prosperity.

Flights from New York City can fly into the UK still can't they? It's simply unbelievable.

And are you at all concerned about people from anywhere in world still being able to enter the UK?

Yes, but the INSANE irony is that the EU's borders ARE closed while the UK's remains open, with even NEW YORKERS able hop on a plane and head there! What is going on?

As another user already pointed out, you should get an update; urgently. Each and every country in Europe has closed its borders, closed as in there are massive controls and only certain people, vehicles, goods, etc are allowed to pass.
Another important thing for those that are rather uninformed on this: even before the current pandamic the EU never had open borders, the EU had internal open borders for EU citizens, and that is something different. It means EU citizens were allowed to move to a EU country of their choice to live and work there. The external borders are not open borders, you've never heard of Frontex, it seems.

At the time of writing, the EU's border weren't closed. However, to the point of the subject of this thread, the UK is SOMEHOW is still allowing all people from every place on the planet. And I just find that impossible to get my head around.

The EU never had open external borders. It's an extremely common misconception among non-Eu folks who seemingly can't tell the difference between open internal borders for EU citizens and external borders. However, closed never meant nothing/nobody comes in and nothing/nobody goes out. Controlled borders describes it better, they were never open in the sense of anybody can just move in at any time. Ever travelled from an EU country to Switzerland?
When Turkey opened its western border on Feb. 29th and used refugees as a political instrument to put pressure on the EU, Greece immediately closed its side of the border; closed as in completely closed, not open to anybody.
Re the UK, there's very little air travel at the moment around the globe which means also a lot less air travel to the UK, for the rest you would have to ask Boris.

Yeah, I meant that the EU's borders weren't closed INTERNALLY.

Well I certainly know the difference.

    Why did Greece do that?

Apparently there are still lots of flight coming in from the current epicentre of the virus - New York!

I can't even go to Brighton, I think if someone made it to the UK now at Dover, they'd be hard pressed to get to London; as for the airports, I'm hearing at best 1 flight a day in the skies; probably the RAF or something repatrioting those stuck abroad?

As soon this is over I can't wait for this to be a world city again with flights from all over the world.

Saw an old concert of an American band playing Tokyo in 1992 and think 'where did we **** up? - for 2020's lockdown'

I miss the good old days of world travel, bad.

It's now come to a point where, people in the UK are infecting people in the UK - I shouldn't have to even point this out, but that's what's happening, domestic covid19.
Same for countries and states across the world.

Just as much to fear from your next door neighbour as there is a visitor from the other side of the world, just so you know @chris155au lol

Sure, but would you rather be around someone who has just come back from New York, or someone who has been at home for months?

My point is that people can get on a plane in New York and head to your city. That's correct isn't it?

yes.....there's just not as many now.....
    upload_2020-4-14_17-31-15.png
this is the commercial flights for a wee bit of Europe....as you can see Amsterdam, London, Paris and Frankfurt etc. are basically non-functional compared to usual...

This is 18.30 CET which is peak time and one would expect the skies full of aircraft - especially after the Easter break!!

This is Heathrow 17.30 UK time

    upload_2020-4-14_17-37-6.png

There are NO movements (the two) Icons are FEDEX aircraft that landed a few hours ago.

There is 1 aircraft on approach
    upload_2020-4-14_17-39-51.png
Which is a SwissAir Airbus A2201-- HB-JBG on approach from Zurich.

    so....nothing to see really.....

I can't wait to feel like I've left the EU.

We've left the EU but we're still allowed to go to the EU since until the end of the extension, UK falls withing the EU border.

So I can't wait for Brexit to come into effect.

IDK, some stupid idiot is still treating this like the EU and the EU external borders are closed.

Also; the US borders are closed so how would people get home again if they're American and flew to London from NYC?
