hyperlink takes you to the story

    snip

The elderly woman can then be seen looking down at one of the children, who is staring at the woman with apparent concern, and says, "I hope you all die!"

    end snip

and the video for those who do not wish to read the story

I'm not sure that I can see the point of the mask aficionado. Yes, she has her opinion and is entitled to that opinion. I do not understand why donning a mask makes her superior to others and permits her to wish death upon young children.

Do you feel that her donning the mask gives her the right to do this? Is she now superior with the mask, and perhaps should the mom have begged forgiveness from the mask wearer?

She forgot that the mask has to be in addition to social distancing. Getting all up in their kool aid doesn't put her in the position of being an expert.

If she's scared to be around people without a mash, she should go curl up in her retirement home and call it a day. And then telling the children "I hope you all die" would have set me off!

Sounds like she’s letting a, justified, concern that people not wearing masks in public spaces puts other people at risk cause her to act irrationally.

I’d guess there’s some form of medication she needs more or less of.

I can hear the mom explaining to the tiny children why the mask wearing woman wished them dead.

Unless she is an employee with some kind of management responsibility whose store policy is that all people, kids included, are REQUIRED to don masks, she had no right to confront the mother about anything. Of course, the death wish is just awful no matter what. However, this is the state of the world today. That is not an excuse or justification. The days of neighbors looking out for one another with genuine concern are long gone.

No sense yelling at stupid people, and the kids are not to blame here... She's in a public store and there's probably a mask mandate... go tell a manager and leave the kids alone..

Oh... wait.... this is Georgia.... Ha Ha.... what was I thinking??

I think the Kemp Phase 3 plan for COVID is to have strangers hug and kiss....

We had a guy in a florida town that lost his job over his overreaction about him not wearing a mask at Costco, But he was being a prick.

I experienced crazy people as a kid. My mother had no problem explaining them to me. I’m sure these kids mother will handle it fine.

I think I saw that video. Yes, he was a bit unhinged. People need to just relax a bit. It's NOT okay to just unleash on somebody even if they are 100% in the wrong. Who in the world would be swayed to listen when somebody is going off like that?

The mother did the right thing, she would have been labeled a maga nutjob for reacting any other way.

She handled it well. She was nicer than me. I have a tendency to ask random rude strangers "And, this is your business, HOW, exactly?"

Correct. Once you don a mask you are making a statement of moral and intellect superiority. The mother should have bowed at the feet of the mask wearing elderly lady. After all, she had on a mask.

Actually, the reverse is more true.... if you are still refusing to wear a mask in public places, mandate or not, you are making a statement of simple ignorance (and I hope your ass gets fined if your locale permits that)

Wore mine today, but the pro shop mandates it, so I wouldn't have been able to pay to tee off without it...

Wonder if Herman Cain is wondering if he should have worn a mask?? Probably not anymore, huh...

Actually, mask wearing has made people bolder to chastise other people who do not conform. Of course, the rudeness had existed long before this twit took it upon herself to accost small children.

Fortunately, I live in a relatively 'small town' type area, where we do look out for each other. Someone like this would have been addressed exactly how they addressed the children.

I see your point. It's ridiculous what people think they can say to others. Shameful.

You are fortunate to be in that kind of area. I live in a small town now (not really by choice) and my neighbors are so mean, selfish, judgmental and outright rude most of the time. I would be on the first thing moving if I had other options right now. Life is too short to deal with constantly pissed off people.

Here in Oz kids under twelve do not have to wear a mask, if similar rules apply I think she wasn't aware of that... "the I hope you die" clearly unnecessary but isn't it startling how for an old person little children suddenly become a threat... because covid. Maybe she should just stay home.

In NJ it is for kids under 2. Basically the kid has to be able to take off the mask. I am sure the 2 kids in the video could do that.

Honestly I wear my mask because I don't want to be fined, but I will never dob anyone in or approach them and abuse them because they are not wearing one...that's too Orwellian for me.
