The U.S. government has been taking a hard look at unidentified flying objects like this one. A report summarizing what the U.S. knows about “unidentified aerial phenomena” — better known as UFOs — is expected to be made public this month. https://apnews.com/article/science-government-and-politics-808f797b27f8a0ac8d81ecd0343d1f36 What is your best guess as to what they are? I tend towards an unknown natural phenomena.
I had an interesting conversation with a person who hypothesized that these 'space crafts' are actually piloted by a very early species (of man) who - when faced with extinction - created a civilization on the ocean floor. They have adapted to life down there. But now with all the damage we have been doing to the environment, they are coming 'up' to assess what's going on. He noted that they are usually seen close to military bases and nuclear facilities - explaining their interest in the damaging nature of today's man. It is his contention that it makes more sense than space craft coming from millions/billions/trillions of miles away. Just one person's opinion...
My late grandmother looked just like her, BBW, with white hair and an evil streak. We all called her Ursula behind her back. ;-0
Why would they all be one thing? Loads of UFO sightings over the years have been subsequently identified as a whole range of different things in all sorts of different circumstances. Even just presenting the whole thing as a singular phenomena is commonly the basis of dishonest attempts to promote a specific preferred idea. Starting with UFOs and presenting them as evidence of something (anything) is the wrong way around. The correct approach would be to present evidence for the existence of the thing you're proposing as an explanation for any given UFO sighting.
I have encountered UFOs before and I know that at least an unknown branch of the military pilots some craft, and some have aliens... I also chose "Interdimensional leakage" as my third option because I believe in the multiverse theory and I think there are other universes. And, yes, some of the UFOs could be drones as well. But that wasn't an option, and I could only pick 3 choices anyway.
Carl Sagan wrote a book with that title. It would be a good read for the many PF members who believe in "mystical" and unproven things. And especially for those who believe they have "other worldly" experiences.
Unwad those panties. The premise is what do you guess they are and you can choose three. There is I have no imagination category. You "know"? Interesting, how so? Drones would be under technology.
Because years ago, at different times, I had several encounters with crafts that landed and I went inside of them and met the occupants.
If is illogical to look for one explanation. Most of your explanations likely apply. The question is, could any of them be ETs or ET crafts? As the UFO researcher Stan Friedman always says: The question is not if UFOs are ET crafts; the question is, are any? Scientists who study the UFO phenomenon have shown that typically 95%-98% of UFOs or UAPs can be explained. What has always interested the serious people are the 2% to 5% that cannot be explained.
In the case of Travis Walton, he was allegedly directly under a large, hovering UFO, when a beam of light came down and struck him, knocking him back ten feet and knocking him unconscious. Six of his fellow logging team were in a truck a short distance away and watched the entire thing. They fled in fear but shortly afterwards went back to find Walton. But he was gone and so was the UFO. Walton disappeared for about the next five days. While under investigation for the presumed murder of Travis Walton, 5 of the 6 loggers passed a lie detector test given by the State examiner. They were deteremined to be truthful when they claimed Walton was last seen under the hovering UFO. The 6th person was hiding a criminal history and his results were inconclusive. Five days later, Walton returned and claimed he has been held by aliens the entire time he was gone, I would say that wasn't a natural phenomenon.
A more likely explanation: Cognitive psychologist Susan Clancy argues that alien abduction reports began only after stories of extraterrestrials appeared in films and on TV, and that Walton was likely influenced by the NBC television movie The UFO Incident, which aired two weeks before his own claimed abduction and dramatized the alien abduction claims of Barney and Betty Hill. Clancy noted the rise in alien abduction claims following the movie and cites Klass's conclusions that "after viewing this movie, any person with a little imagination could now become an instant celebrity", concluding that "one of those instant celebrities was Travis Walton. Walton appeared on the Fox game show The Moment of Truth and was asked if he in fact was abducted by a UFO on November 5, 1975, to which he replied, "Yes". The polygraph test determined he was lying. Please, go on....
When I was a kid I was visited by many different species of aliens, many different times. This ended up with me going somewhere with one of them to their place. When I returned I don't recall ever encountering an alien again. But then I did something and a human, piloting a craft, landed in the field out behind my family's old apartment. Because of this, I caught the interest of an unknown branch of the military. And I worked for them briefly. But then I left. So, yeah, many species of aliens flying around and humans too.
Are you saying the occupants you met were demons? I'm trying to understand the connection between your comment of "The Demon-Haunted World" and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.
Are you saying these unidentified entities are some kind of demons? Would you just mind explaining what "The Demon-Haunted World" means without the riddles? Much appreciated.
My apologies for the riddle, I generally assume that people interested in science would know who Carl Sagan is and be familiar with his works such as "The Demon-Haunted World." He was a famous astrophysicist and author of popular science books and the TV science series "Cosmos." He believed in the scientific method and was highly skeptical of pseudo-scientific thinking such as belief in demons, ghosts, ESP, alien abductions, alien visitations, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan The full title of the book is "The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Demon-Haunted_World The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark is a 1995 book by the astrophysicist Carl Sagan, in which the author aims to explain the scientific method to laypeople and to encourage people to learn critical and skeptical thinking. He explains methods to help distinguish between ideas that are considered valid science and those that can be considered pseudoscience. Sagan states that when new ideas are offered for consideration, they should be tested by means of skeptical thinking and should stand up to rigorous questioning. So... no demons or aliens, at least not so far.
And as a follow-up, it does amaze me that in our modern world, the majority of its human inhabitants still believe in all manner of "mystical" things that have zero evidence for their existence. One would do well to read Sagan's works, especially the one in question.
