...because calling for unity in crafting certain specific pieces of legislation precludes deriding obvious wrongdoing. (it doesn't)
If I understand you, Adam Schiff never did anything to deserve such a response from President Trump. Of course, we all know that Schiff is a partisan hack, incapable of seeking accommodation for common cause such as DACA, and has done nothing but lie about the "memo". If Trump didn't know it before, he now knows that the Democrats are serpents, incapable of consensus with anyone who doesn't follow their script.
Not if he really wanted unity. But, of course, we all know that speeches like the SOTU are written for him to read, but not actually follow... or even understand.
