Unsigned Trump order told Pentagon to seize voting machines

    A draft executive order written by Donald Trump's White House in the weeks after his defeat in the 2020 election directed the nation's top military leader to seize voting machines, a report said Friday.

    The explosive document, released by the National Archives and obtained by Politico, highlights the extreme measures Trump may have been willing to take to cling to power against the will of voters who picked Joe Biden to be their next president.

    Dated December 16 2020, the order sought to appoint a special counsel to bring charges on any fraud allegations that arose from the seizures. But it was never signed.

    "Effective immediately, the Secretary of Defense shall seize, collect, retain and analyze all machines, equipment, electronically stored information, and material records required for retention," says the three-page draft.

    The document reprises many of the debunked conspiracy theories about hacked voting machines that were pushed by figures in Trump's orbit now being targeted by congressional investigators, including right-wing attorney Sidney Powell.

    This banana republic move is part of the reason why Trump had senior Pentagon officials replaced by loyalists the day after the election.

    When it's said that it only takes the election of a fascist demagogue to turn a democracy into a dictatorship, you have one more proof here.

    And to think that there were MAGA on this forum who wanted Trump to institute martial law.

    Italy had its Mussolini, Chile had its Pinochet, Spain had its Franco, the US had Trump....

    If dems had written an order to seizie voting machines, the right would be losing their minds over state sovereignty.

    Trump doing it is just upholding integrity.

    if Trump had given this order, one of three things would have happened:

    #1. National Guard refuses, and instead arrests Trump.

    #2. Cabinet removes Trump from power, using the 25th Amendment.

    #3. entire cabinet resigns, Trump is immediately impeached and removed from office.



    Lucky for Trump, he had some smart people to stop him

    Unsigned? Maybe the News agency chose not to sign their fake documents because it's legal to lie but not forge signatures.

    No. Please seize the machines and investigate them. Just use lawyers and state police instead of military please. The way Trump eventually decided to go about it is way better.

    An autocratic regime is always set up this way.

    A minority of the voters say they are cheated by the results of the election and legitimize the violation of the constitution so that their candidate remains in power.

    If Trump had declared martial law throughout the country, the MAGA would have applauded.

    There were rumors in December 2020 that Trump was about to institute martial law to seize voting machines.

    But obviously, no one took that seriously.

    On the other hand, several MAGAs wanted it to happen and then Mike Lindell was photographed leaving the Oval Office with an agenda in his hands where the implementation of martial law was discussed with Trump.

    This document proves that Trump came very close to doing it.

    An unsigned, unissued order is somehow in the National Archives and obtained by Politico? Sounds like BS to me. Just more Theatre from the Dem trying to deflect attention from Joe Biden in advance of the midterms.

    The "rumors" turned out to be BS so why should they have been taken seriously? A draft unsigned document does not prove sh*t. You can't even prove Trump ever even saw this draft document and if he did see it he didn't sign it. So explain exactly how you think this draft, unsigned, unissued document proves Trump came "close" to doing whatever it is you think he came close to doing.

    Do you think or claim that every permutation of every draft white house document is actually in the National Archives? Why was this draft, unsigned, and unissued document in the National Archives? How did it just happen to come to the attention of "the committee", what evidence can anyone provide that Trump ever saw this document? Who actually wrote the document?

    Four year of anti-Trump political theatre during the Trump administration and now it continues during the Biden administration. What do the Dems have to offer other than Trump bashing?
