UPS Boosts Investments By $12 Billion On Favorable Tax Law Impact

“We applaud President Trump and Congress for their bold action
to improve the U.S. economy,” Abney continued. “Our investments will create new jobs, secure existing jobs and expand opportunities for our people. We are committed to remaining a preferred employer by continuing to provide industry-leading compensation and excellent career opportunities.”

UPS also recently made a $5 billion tax-qualified contribution to the company’s three UPS-sponsored U.S. pension plans. This represents about $13,000 per participant. The voluntary contribution raised the funding level to above 90-percent, securing retirement benefits on behalf of union-represented and union-free employees eligible for UPS-funded pensions.

“Tax reform is a tremendous catalyst,” said Abney. “We will continue to evaluate additional actions that benefit customers, employees and shareowners as we progress further in the year.”

Now this is a win. All due to the tax reform bill. The link provides details. Jobs Jobs Jobs. Good ones. UPS is giving back and building.

I predict a landslide of these as we have seen a few already but this one is huge.

I don't think we will see much leftist criticism of this one. The above isn't even half of the goodness.

The company plans to raise future capital spending above its previously committed six-to-seven percent of annual revenue. UPS will invest an additional $7 billion over three years for the construction and renovation of facilities, to acquire new aircraft and ground fleet vehicles, and to enhance the information technology platforms required to support the network, manage the business and power new customer solutions.

Tack on the flatout amazing pension bonus mentioned before investing in each and every employees retirement? That's life changing long term money in the pocket they can count on later.

    I mean wow.

I have started good news incontrovertible threads like this and the left tends to ignore them and hope they sink out of sight off the first page as fast as possible. Good luck.

I save some leftist trouble on another line of thought. It's fiction, they were going to do it anyway.

That's why I really liked the part where UPS right away thanked the President and it was his and Congress actions that are making it possible. They didn't want any ability of leftist media to be able to twist it to not allow credit to go where it was due.

Trump's tax reform was a great move, the "crumbs" Pelosi derided are significant and substantial, this is definitely "trickling down", the benefits are aimed at the middle class.

Whoah that site is amazing. Look at those testimonials. Those are real Middle class people. Over 300 companies already. For those that don't click the link each company is listed and they state who they are and what they are doing for their company and employees as a result of the new tax reform.

It's inspiring to me. Companies the majority of them do care about their employees I think time will tell.. They have just been nearly strangled out of existence by leftist over regulation and taxation.

What pleases me the most is to see how pure "trickle down" is shown to work. I've confronted literally thousands of postings deriding the notion and now we've got tangible proof it is being applied and significantly boosting the economy. If you want to criticize Trump for his crass language, homphobia, misogyny or xenophobia, I suppose you're one of those "snowflakes", but you can't criticize him for his business sense. This was a good move, and 90% of the workforce will be reminded of it twice a month.

    Jeez...Trumpbots are so naive.

You people do realize that there is ZERO proof that any of these corporations were not already going to boost spending and they just put out these press releases to get on Trump's good side?

So your proposing that..UPS a nearly 100 billion company that employs over 400,000 people and makes an announcement like that is doing it so President Trump will... Like them?

The PROOF is in the puddin. UPS itself is increasing its capital investment from 6% to 7% based purely on tax reform. Then voluntarily out of their own pockets is adding $13,000 to every employees pension plan that is eligible?

That's in the article. This is real.

Don't start panicking just yet. Actually.. Yes now would be the perfect time... November

Leftism is withering and dying right in front of our eyes.
