Uri Avnery has died. He was 94. A man with a conscience. A life well lived thinking of others and working for justice. Robert Fisk https://www.independent.co.uk/voice...rafat-peace-middle-east-process-a8499181.html https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium-uri-avenry-veteran-peace-activist-dies-at-94-1.6364250 https://972mag.com/veteran-left-wing-journalist-and-peace-activist-uri-avnery-dies-at-94/137370/ Rest in Peace. "There was to have been a 95th birthday party for him in Tel Aviv next month. If they still hold it, however, Avnery’s friends – and enemies – should proclaim that Avnery is dead. But then add: And long live Avnery." Fisk above.
Can you give us ONE person in The Palesh-tinian side than we can say he is "A man with a conscience. A life well lived thinking of others and working for justice" ? Probably Not.
This clearly is a slur against all Palestinians and hence goes against rule 7. It also is an insult to the man who died who this thread is showing respect for - that is the last thing he believed or would promote. Hence on the moral level of being disgusting by degrading someone who has just died and on level 7 of the rules this post disgusts. Uri Avnery was the last or one of the last people alive who fought for Israel in 48. He worked until he died for justice for the Palestinians.
This week, Avnery's mother's will was published. Among other things, she wrote in it: "Livni Uri Avnery ID. 39517, 10 Ruppin Street, Tel Aviv I do not leave a single penny, since he did not take care of me and instead went to visit the murderer Yasser Arafat !" Blahhhh He chose not to have children .. His choice of course .. Lucky for that children that did not come to this world.
