But if anyone had questioned Ikaika Kang’s loyalty to the US military, the questioner would have been denounced as “Islamophobic.”

Note, however, the last few paragraphs of this news article.

Apparently, all this happened because Ikaika Kang, like so many Islamic jihadists, is “mentally ill.”

His actions couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the calls in the Qur’an and Hadith for warfare against unbelievers, right?

Sgt. 1st Class Ikaika Kang, 35, pleaded guilty in August to four counts of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. He provided classified military documents, a drone and other help, he said.

“Your honor, I know what I did was wrong,” Kang said before Senior U.S. District Judge Susan Oki Mollway imposed a sentence that includes 20 years of supervised release. “When I’m released I won’t do it again.”

We should not have muslims in the active service.
Maybe some non-combat roles, just keep them away from guns.

 

I have been watching this case, and it must be realized that this guy converted to Islam.

And he also seems to have a mental health problem. And the story from his family is hard to connect. An abusive family, a mother who was a drug user (supposedly a meth head - not a common drug of choice during the crack epidemic). And he plead out, with a rather puzzling sentence for the crimes he did.

But my biggest question, is why in the hell he was prosecuted in the civilian court system? He is in the military, why was he not handled by the UCMJ?

Myself, I think ultimately what we had was somebody with mental issues, but was legally sane. The military knew a prosecution might be hard so they simply punted it back to the Government who took an easy plea deal.

And as typical, the Islamophobic nutcases always tend to pop their heads up and spout their coprolite.

 

Converts to any religion are usually the most devoted, as opposed to someone who grows up in it.
Just the fact he is an American, converted to Islam, should have raised eyebrows.

 

Why isn't he being charged with treason? He should be executed for the above.

 

So if somebody becomes a "Born Again Christian", does that mean they are going to go out and start blowing up abortion clinics?

If they convert to Wiccan, are they going to start looking for babies to sacrifice?

If they convert to Mormonism, are they going to start looking for a second then third wife?

If they convert to Rastafarian, does that mean that they are going to be smoking up every chance they get?

No, you are only speaking from hate and fear, not from rationality and reality. And I am one that believes fully in Freedom of Religion, and will fight to prevent anybody from being persecuted for their beliefs. Even if it is as silly as being a Pastafarian or Jedi.

 

Take a deep breath, and look at what you posted.

For Treason, the individual has to actually give aid to an actual enemy that causes serious harm to the United States.

Passing along atomic secrets to a belligerent nation qualifies as that. Passing along Secret information (which by it's definition may cause "grave damage") does not qualify.

And most of what he passed along seems to be rather minor. Call signs? That is barely secret, you can get that kind of information simply by listening with a scanner or hanging out in the local pilots bar. A lot of classified material I handled on deployment that was marked "Secret" could be determined by anybody with eyes. Which PATRIOT Battery was operational at any given hour and which were not were "Secret", but you simply had to drive by the location and see if the generators were all operating or not and determine that for yourself.

Heck, a lot of things about the PATRIOT system are "Secret", but easily found even in Wikipedia.

So no, this does not come anywhere near the burden of proof for "Treason". But passing along any classified information is a crime, and he should be treated as such.

Maybe he should just change his name and ask for a pardon.

I said Many are faithful to America, for any of a number of reasons.
The most common is that they want out, but their friend and family structure is in, and they have to walk away from everyone.
I also said in the polls, most want sharia, most want to kill apostates.

I have the Qur'an and sunnah in print, and have read it.
I also know the correct way to read it, something most Muslims don't.
You will notice, nobody who actually knows anything about the religion dares speak with me on a public forum.

Yes, in many countries, the only ex-muslim is a dead muslim.
There have even been a few cases in the U.S. and Britain of people being killed by their own family members because they tried to leave.
(Some countries are a lot more strict on this than others, but throughout most of the Middle East ex-muslims are in some degree of danger and they definitely try not to advertise it, and keep a low profile)

 

We have honor killings here, and it will only get worse.

 

Honor killings aren't the same thing as apostasy killings, and in many cases they don't even show up in the statistics because they just say the perpetrator was "mentally ill" (because the local authorities can't understand the reasons, or don't want to understand them).
