"Top officials in the White House were aware in early 2019 of classified intelligence indicating Russia was secretly offering bounties to the Taliban for the deaths of Americans, a full year earlier than has been previously reported, according to U.S. officials with direct knowledge of the intelligence."

"The assessment was included in at least one of President Donald Trump’s written daily intelligence briefings at the time, according to the officials. Then-national security adviser John Bolton also told colleagues he briefed Trump on the intelligence assessment in March 2019."

Putin glorifies Stalin who was not Russian!

Most of the evil antichrist Bolsheviks were foreigners who enslaved, tortured and destroyed the ethnic Russian Christian soul of Russia! Even Putin has admitted this, yet he continues to worships the evil antichrists!

Stalin and his evil antichrist Bolsheviks had destroyed thousands of churches and mass-murdered millions of Christians.

Hitler [along with Russians and others who fought along side Germans] was in the process of liberating Russia from the evil antichrist Bolsheviks when US president FDR began to send BILLIONS of dollars of military aid and weapons [lend-lease] to antichrist mass-murderer Bolshevik Stalin to fight against Hitler. During his 1942 Pascha [Easter] sermon, the archbishop of the Russian Orthodox Church in exile [exiled in Serbia at the time] said Hitler's "courageous German sword" was resurrecting Russian lands from antichrist Bolshevik death! But alas, thanks to the USA allying with and sending billions of American taxpaper money to save the evil mass-murdering antichrist Bolsheviks, it was not to be.

So you have a story that says yes and I have a story that says no, and since we can't see the original reports, we have no way to vet it. So it really comes down to he said, she said.

So I'll ask you to use reason. What is the incentive for Russians to spend hard currency to pay the Taliban to kill Americans?

Had Stalin not taken over after Lenin, Trotsky would have, and he's the one that committed the most crimes and murders of Christians in Russia. Stalin gave him his just reward later on as he did most of the criminals.

As for the Russians who joined the German army, they wanted to free Russia, but that's not what the Nazis wanted. The Nazis went to war to exterminate and push the Russians to the Urals. Most of the 27 million Russians that died were civilians that were caught in the German advance.

Germany always had a large birthrate and couldn't always feed its people. This is why there are German colonies all over the world. Hitler as a German supremacist wanted to keep his people in Germany, but to do that he needed land. The Russian people were fighting for their survival.

I read an interesting story about Stalin by a nun who wasn't sure if it was true. She said that when the Germans were outside Moscow, Stalin didn't know whether he should stay or leave. Someone told him there was a Saint in Moscow, and he should ask her. Well he did, and she told him not to leave and the Germans won't enter, but he had to open the churches - which Stalin did. All the churches in Russia opened up overnight.

Later on when Khruschev became premier, he immediately closed them and the persecution of Christians started again. I read that one of the executioners of the Tsars family visited him and told him that he didn't want to waste bullets on them, so he started hacking them to death.

As for the American lend lease, Churchill had convinced Roosevelt to help Stalin out because the people in Leningrad were starving. Hitler had a special hatred towards the city because it was the hub of Bolshevism, so they blockaded it.

It's assumed today that because of all the people in the surrounding areas that ran into Leningrad to escape the Nazis advance, that the death toll from starvation might have been as high as one and a half million people. Putin's brother was one of them..

As for the American lend lease, it was mostly food and trucks. The ships would port at Vladisvostok or Iran, and the Russians would jump into the trucks and drive 3 to 5 thousand miles to Leningrad. (I researched it for a book once).

A lot of projection here. Americans seem to forget that Moscow doesn't have a money machine. Besides that the ruble's value is low, so Russia's not exactly in a position to be giving out money. That's our game.

Hitler's German agents assassinated Trotsky in Mexico.

Stalin mass-destroyed churches and mass-murdered millions of Christians. Not only did Stalin order the total destruction of the largest church in Russia, Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior... so he could rebuild his own atheist tower of the Soviets with a statue of Lenin on top... Stalin also wanted to totally destroy iconic St Basil's!! Ironically, it was Hitler's war against the evil antichrist Bolsheviks that prevented Stalin from building his atheist tower. Otherwise, the Church of Christ the Saviour could not have been rebuilt in 2000!

Trotsky was in exile and knew he would be killed by Stalin. The killer was a member of the NKVD. Stalin gave him an award afterwards..

Stalin was a communist and atheist, and the evil of Bolshevism brought about the opposing evil of nationalism in Germany. The Marxist ideas that was the foundation of the Soviet Union, indirectly caused the deaths of about 60 million people and the destruction of Europe, as well as 60 million in the Far East.

According to Saint Matrona of Russia: "What started in Russia will end up in the US." A Russian Saint also said in 1917: "America, America, someday you will feed the world, and then you will starve." I cry for my country.

The old saying is true... the winners of the war write the history.

And as usual, those winners write FALSE history used to further demonize their enemies.

As Putin often gloats... antichrist Bolshevik Stalin won WW2... and the rest of the planet lost.

No. I have the former national security adviser who had actual knowledge of the issue. There is also no dispute that it was in the PDB also.

I have not had an opportunity to speak to President Putin, but I would assume he wanted to raise the body count to drive the Americans from Afghanistan hoping Russia's involvement would remain secret. After all, if Russian soldiers started killing American soldiers in Afghanistan, that could create a larger conflict Russia does not want.

    Bolton intentionally said nothing.
Here's the meat in the last paragraph of your Military Times article by an AP writer:
// In a statement released late Monday, ... To date, DoD has no corroborating evidence to validate the recent allegations found in open-source reports. \\
    8 months later, no news.

Well my story said that the Pentagon had never verified the story. The fact that John Bolton briefed it however, is not surprising. His incentive for that is pretty clear. So if the story gets verified I'll change my mind on this, however right now the fact that you are hiding behind John Bolton's skirts is kind of funny. But more telling, you can't explain how it would be in Russia's interest to do that.

Wow that's dumb. Trump entered the White House wanting to pull out of Afghanistan. The "Bounty" story was floated to help stop it. That's why an unverified story like that gets floated up to the NSC in the first place.

Again, Bolton was National Security Advisor. He was in a position to know more about these attacks and he not only confirmed them, but advised Trump about them. As he said, "He can disown everything if nobody ever told him about it,” I believe Bolton about this because Trump had an uncomfortable love affair with Putin and it was certainly in character for him to put his relationship with Putin above the lives of the "losers" and "suckers" who serve in our armed forces. Perhaps Biden will release the full intelligence if the Trump admin didn't shred it all.

It won't change anything. Iraq remains a mostly Shia nation like Iran and Syria. They will stick together, and the US is simply not going to be in any position to alter the ethnic / cultural / religious bond. And as sovereign nations they got their own rights to defend themselves against hostilities. And currently they US supports Israel bombing Syria, while the US also wants to control the internal affairs of all 3. That's just an impossibility and JUSTIFIED reason enough that they attack American troops.

It's not as if America would stand for the idea that the Mexican army inside the US would be calling the shots and if or if not the US gets to be a happy camper with Canada.

If you look around, Bolton never said he briefed it. He agreed with Susan Rice that he WOULD have briefed it. Anyone would. (had it not been speculation)
No one confirmed anything about it, including Bolton. No one briefed Trump about it, including Bolton. No one has a name of a Russian, Taliban, or American soldier connected to this rumor.
Therefore, Trump can and does disown everything about this lie.

Then there was the 'ditching the Kurds' lie by omission. Syrian Kurds were infiltrated by Commie PKK Kurds from Turkey. That's why Turkey didn't want them operating on their border. Trump pulled our troops out after ISIS was defeated, back to non-Commie, Iraqi Kurdish territory. ...but kept our people guarding some Syrian oil wells taken from ISIS.

Fake News lies by intentional omission of pertinent facts for political purpose.

You may be too young to remember but Bolton has a history of exaggerating threats. There was this country in the middle east called Iraq...aw but never mind. My point is that on an issue that is based on unconfirmed intelligence, you are taking John Bolton's word for it. He wouldn't have any greater knowledge on the issue than what the intelligence community could provide, and they couldn't confirm the story.

But having you holding up John Bolton as your go-to guy was worth the price of this thread! Can't wait till you use Cheney as a source!
