If something sounds too good to be true, skepticism is warranted. Plus hey, it's just a model. Nevertheless, it's always good to hear news with good potential.

We will never be virus-free, just as we are never that way with so many other virus in human life.

The herd immunity is growing and it's summertime, but the favelas of Brazil are catching hell right now. I cannot predict the future.

I tend to agree, just by thought experiment. Although, I think we'll become expert at dealing with it, to the point that future generations will have no idea what all the fuss was about.

So far soothsayin' from out of a computer has really sucked. But I hope the Singapore team turns out to be right. It'll just be luck, however, none of them have any idea what they're doing.

"US could be coronavirus-free by late September, scientists say"

is this because of wave 2 and they predict everyone will have had it by then?

it's become too political, both sides spin the facts while neither try to find the truth

I think the virus was here late last year, and if that is true, the Trump shutdown was not needed, this is so easy to verify, yet neither side has done so? why?

because if that is true, powerful people on both sides look bad....

yes, but Trump said we will be, so many believe it, going to disappear like magic

and if one wants to be hired by Trump, say what Trump wants to hear

And Obama said there was 52 states, but I'm sure they both know better by now. **** happens.

Democrats might have to take care of these scientists. Could get in the way of their plans. ;)

You are comparing a slip-up to a misinformed lie.
Slip ups happen all the time, and I will never hold someone accountable for them. For example you are wrong in your statement: Obama never said 52, he said 57. Slip up. I am not goign to call you a misinformed liar for that. Trump was saying demonstrably untrue stuff about the virus that was known to be completely improbable or in some cases false nOt the same thing

They have in the meantime taken down their website:

    https://ddi.sutd.edu.sg

There is optimism and there is wishful thinking. This is wishful thinking. Covid is at a steady state in most places WITH the lockdown. To think that it goes to zero after the lockdown is lifted.... It doesn't take a mathematical model to know that this highly unlikely.

Taken down or removed? YouTube channels get taken down for not even breaking the rules. Certain websites have “problems” unexpectedly. It’s happening more often ever since Google became political instead of just a bipartisan search engine. Now they have activists at all levels pulling strings and switching levers. It’s dangerous as ****.

It’s certainly overly optimistic, but no worse than other scientists claiming millions will die this year which is not even statistically possible.

I posted the link, did you try it? The link is still there, but the model predictions were removed? Why? Most likely because the authors realized that overly optimistic predictions make people change behavior, which in fact makes transmission worse.

    From the article:

"But the group has since taken down its country-by-country charts from its website — instead posting a disclaimer that the research was strictly for educational purposes and may contain errors."

Seems the source for this article is is rejecting their own reporting?

NY Post = Kushner = Trump Propaganda Outlet.

They depend on your stopping at the first paragraph.

And overly pessimistic claims ALSO scare people, change behavior and make them irrational. But the MSM has no problem spouting off those claims, because guess what? There’s no accountability. No backlash. No criticism for being irrationally fearful. Not just cautious. But FEAR mongering.

Cautious optimism is better then irrational unsubstantiated FEAR, unless your goal is acquiring control over people’s lives. And thats the scary part in all of this. What is the end goal for Democrats here? What kind of control are they pushing for in their end game?

A poor, powerless, dependent populace is the easiest to control and ultimately dominate, since you have to vote for whoever will give you another govt check or provide food to you. This is NOT unheard of. Other countries have tried and failed. Democrat leaders want to poke that broken wheel AGAIN. Morons!!
