I agree - if the US admin does not want to give her up, she should be prosecuted in the US as if this whole accident happened on the US soil.

It didn't happen on US soil. Hence she should be prosecuted by the UK. The entire idea that she should be prosecuted by the US, is ridiculous. You really think the UK is unable to make a fair trial? So far the US has shown not to be interested in any trial, so that says plenty how fair a trial would be in the US.

Guys is this really about America, or is it about somebody not wanting to face up to what they may or may not have done, and the international Diplomatic Immunity laws have provided her with a convenient get out.
The family did not invite this nightmare on, whatever anybody may think about their reaction, the boy has a twin brother for goodness sake.
This is about the individual woman behaving frankly inexcusably, and it would be the same if it happened the other way round or involving other countries. it is not because the woman is American.

Well, you can’t really eliminate diplomatic immunity rules because you’d have problems finding people willing to work for your country in countries like Russia where someone can make up charges against you and put you in jail.
Some abuse this immunity, like Gaddafi’s sons when he was alive. But in general these rules work and make everyone’s lives easier.

    You're right--it is about murder.

That the murderer happens to be US, and that her government is aiding and abetting murder, is also what this is all about.

The US has been aiding and abetting murder for many years provides insight into the moral cesspool that is the US government.

Trump did comment on the incident and noted that he also drove on the wrong side of the road while in Europe and then began to tell us about his small hands...

In this case it is really clear cut. The diplomat murdered somebody, and with the knowledge of her government she fled away from her responsibilities, and are abusing their immunity over it. The idea that this might be bogus claims, is just hideously offensive towards the family who is left behind with a murdered son.

Sadly, but yes. The worst that can happen is declaration of that diplomat as persona non grata.

Here is a good example of how ugly this can get:
