The US population grew by only 0.1% last year, the smallest growth we have experienced since becoming a nation. With our current high death rates and the lowest in our history birth rates, it is not pointing aa very good picture for the future of our nation.

And the numbers for the other industrialized nations? The point being it's all a **** sandwich right now and everyone has to take a bite. You really have not point to make.

The point is we are a country in decline and we need immigrants far more than they need us.

Trump and Biden were President in 2021... we will have to see if Biden can reverse this in the next 3 years

the Infrastructure bill was a good start, too bad the last administration failed to pass it

We don't let non-citizens vote and most of our voting practices are aimed at preventing just that; yet these other people will come up with any excuse to say that illegal votes are somehow allowed. Pathetic

Did you fail to see the language in the BBB bill to extend citizenship to illegals? I didn't think so. It has always been about votes.

Why is this an issue? There are stockpiles of unwanted kids in group homes, foster care and on the streets. Maybe we should focus on the population we have versus panicking that we aren't bringing more unwanted kids into the world.

Is that a plan you think you could get behind?

Our nation was founded on the principle of Open Borders. From 1850 to 1925 we hosted the largest known migration of people that ever was. It enabled us to settle an entire continent in less than a century and to transform a backwater and howling wilderness into the premier economic power and cultural leader of the world. Biden's Build Back Better plan MAY slightly put off the long and slow decline our bigoted denial of what caused our greatness is causing us now. I hope he coordinates the infrastructure rebuilding with the ending of the last administration's most harmful and short-sighted campaign as he seems to be doing now.

most people can't afford to adopt, many try to adopt from overseas cause it's just easier

I agree it's sad that is the way it is, think we would just give children to good homes, not make them have to buy the children

The idea is to make illegals legal. Of course it always HAS been about votes. Citizens should participate in the government and immigrants who stay here SHOULD become citizens and ALL CITIZENS SHOULD VOTE. Why are you saying they should not?

The alternative to a shrinking population and consequently a shrinking of businesses and companies, is a growing population and the growth of business and opportunity for all. Which is what the US has always till now offered to it's citizens.

Are you suggesting that we expand legal immigration, or are you suggesting that we allow more illegals?

I didn't. You twisted my words. I'll be more clear. The purpose of the open border with Mexico is to import future democrat voters. Does that clear it up for you?

Is that really a valid conclusion though? How do we need them? And remember, they come HERE for jobs. We don't go to THEM for jobs.

I suspect what you are really saying is this, "If our birth rates keep declining, this country will get browner." Now, I'm willing to concede I'm putting words in your mouth and could be wrong, but if that's how you feel/think, you should just say that. Because I think even there you could have a valid conversation. Your above statement, however, doesn't align with what's actually happening when it comes to immigation.

Well, thanks for admitting why you want open borders.

Actually, no, it wasn't. The first immigration law was established in 1819. Ellis Island sent back thousands of people that tried to come to the US, even for something as simple as blindness. And in order to enter you had to have proof that you had work waiting for you. And if you were female you had to have a male family member pick you up.

Uh the current us worker participation rate is around 64%. That means 36% of Americans are out if work. So how about we get them jobs before we invite in foreigners.
