yeah because the Biden administration does not want to show us how far they’re willing to bend over for Putin. The secrecy only suggests that the public will not like it.

I think its more likely they don't want us to see how hard they're trying to railroad the process into a war.

...but either way, 'confidential talks' require neither their demands nor our response to be secret. None of the parties involved have demonstrated any trustworthiness in operating in secret.

Little Vladolf has his bluff called....I guess he needs to show his cards.

Hes put up too much hardware....1) this invasion will cost him his regime...and probably his life.

    2) If he blinks and backs down.....it costs him his regime and possibly his life.

    Neither option looks good.

Now with the response by the US, or rather the non response to Russia's security concerns, the reactions have started in the Russian Duma. There is pressure now to immediately arm the militias of the 2 Republics to protect the civilian population from the Ukrainian build up on the demarcation line.

There is also talk of recognizing the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics. The Secretary-General of the General Council of "United Russia" and the First Deputy President of the Federation Council, Andrey Turchak, said:

"I believe that under these circumstances, Russia should start arming Luhansk and Donetsk with specific weapons (air defense and electronic warfare systems) in order to increase their defensive capability."

A similar opinion was expressed by Vladimir Dzhabarov, the deputy head of the International Affairs Committee of the Council of the Federation.

"Equipping Ukraine with missile systems, grenade launchers and other ammunition (by the US and UK), is preparation for military operations against the civilian population.

The Russian Duma in the meantime has just announced that it will examine a draft law on the recognition of the 2 republics of Donbass and it will be brought to the attention of Russian President V. Putin.

We now understand that we cannot leave people at the mercy of the Kiev regime. In this respect, we appeal to the leadership of our country to provide assistance to the republics of Luhansk and Donetsk in the form of supplies necessary to prevent Ukrainian military aggression."

On Wednesday, 'honest Abe' Blinken phoned his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, to lecture him on the so called 'Russian aggression' with the intent of isolating Moscow from Beijing,

But his cry for help didn't impress Wang, According to Chinese media, Wang urged Ukraine to follow the Minsk Protocol, stated his opposition to NATO expansion, and lashed out at the US on a number of issues, such as its “interference” in China’s internal affairs, undermining the Winter Olympics, and demanded that Washington complies with the One China policy on Taiwan.
