Well if trade negotiations don't go our way, adding China to the no entry list sounds like a good idea.

Global civilization is a combination of civilizations of various ethnic communities. It is just like a mighty river formed by many streams and tributaries that begin from a humble source. Without the Chinese invention of paper, you and your schoolmates would each have to carry a huge sack of clay or wooden tablets instead of books to school every day.

In addition, you and your people would have to do your cleaning with leaves or grass instead of toilet paper after every "big business".

 

Many of the young Americans who would have been in top tier universities have been pushed out into second and third tier public schools.

Its a good move. China has more than earned our distrust. We should take some time and see some other countries offering cheap labor for a while. The timing couldn't be better.

 

My friend, your claim that many of the young Americans have been "pushed out" into second and third tier public schools (like smaller animals being "pushed" out of their sheds by bigger animals) is absolutely illogical.

It is akin to saying that many of the American athletes would be world record holders in the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 × 100 metres relay if there is no Usain Bolt and other world champions to "push" them out of the race. Would your claim be fair to Usain Bolt and other world champions?​

Do you think the school authorities and principals, who are mostly white Americans, are colluding with Chinese students to "push out" young Americans (whose academic results pale by comparison to the top Chinese students)? Please don't belittle your American schools and universities. Not all of them are like the defunct Trump University. Taking an analogy, if Ali Baba is alive today, he could never get into any Ivy League school even if he donates tons of gold bars to the school.

 

No, of course not. We all know that Chinese study far far harder than most any American could ever practically imagine.

Talking no sports activities, they just spend all day sitting at their desk studying.
No social life or sex either, and certainly no partying.

(Personally I feel there's probably a genetic component as well, Northeast Asians might have a brain better at concentration, discipline, and studying, but that's kind of besides the main point)

The problem is so bad many Progressive universities (that value diversity) have had to (secretly) actively discriminate against Asians.
Of course they usually prefer to discriminate against the ones paying in-state tuition, since the foreign Chinese students are paying full price which adds more revenue for the university.

My great friend, trust is mutual. Chinese won't trust the Americans either.

 

It is mainly due to the emphasis on education and hard work in Confucian culture.

 

But they do trust us. They even put their money where their mouth is and buy our treasury bonds. We are a predictable people. We will continue to buy cheap items that will end up in a land fill in a few years, while they use the money to buy our debt and real estate. Should we have just left things as they were?
