I was fairly confident Trump would not let you down.

Trump fixing the border means the Democrats and the cartels are losing at the border. This is good news for America.

The left was screaming that this was going to be the one thing that finally destroyed the American economy thanks to Trump 3 or 4 days ago. One would think they would get tired of being wrong most of the time.

The impact of this win for Trump cannot be put into words.

    It is monumental.

He took on a nation by himself, against even his own party, and got them to do his bidding.

Trump has also, in the process, elevated Mexico to a more equal partner. If they follow through with this immigration plan the benefits to them from their stronger relations with us will be immeasurable.

The difference between Obama's not caring and Trumps taking serious action is just amazing.

How the democrats plan on beating him with these wins he's getting is beyond me.

I see no route to victory for them at this point.

The same people that pay billions to support these leaches after they illegally sneak into the country. We will save money by not spending it on more mooches.

Now congress needs to quickly ratify the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). I think treaties can be approved by the senate and without house mother Pelosi's approval. NAFTA is completely outdated and harmful to our economy. If congress doesn't act on this soon it will be nothing less than gross dereliction of duty by congress.

Yes, the house has no input on treaties.

In my opinion, Trump should follow up this act of faith by Mexico with some sort of golden egg which would further increase our cooperation on this issue.

The Mexican president does have to show some gains for his people and since he is willing to work with Trump we should seriously grease that wheel.

It still needs to get thru the house, but it has a better chance now that Trump folded on the steel tariffs.

Nope. The troops would be paid, fed and maintained regardless of where they were at. They are an investment to prevent leaches from sneaking into the country, just in case. Since you are so concerned about the budget I thought I would include some information that you will probably immediately ignore since you are more worried about making some idiotic point rather than a real concern about immigration or our budget.

    • In 2017, the total cost of illegal immigration for the United States – at the federal, state, and local levels – was approximately $116 billion.
    • FAIR arrived at this number by subtracting the tax revenue paid by illegal aliens – about $19 billion – from the total economic impact of illegal migration, $134.9 billion.
    • In 2013, the estimated total cost of illegal migration was approximately $113 billion. So, in under four years, the cost has risen nearly $3 billion.
    • Evidence shows that the tax payments made by illegal aliens fail to cover the costs of the many services they consume.
    • A large percentage of illegal aliens who work in the underground economy frequently avoid paying any income tax at all.
    • Many illegal aliens actually receive a net cash profit through refundable tax credit programs.

Pelosi controls whether the trade deal gets to the House floor. Democrats are in no hurry to move it through the chamber. They have several reservations about the agreement, including its environmental and labor protections, its provisions for enforcing rules and its potential to increase prices on some drugs. A Pelosi spokesman did not immediately respond to a request to comment on where she stands now on ratifying the USMCA.

    No it doesn't.

The constitution gives the sole power of treaties to the senate.

The house has zero input on treaties.

It's not a trade deal, we were talking treaties.

How many more leaches would we have that would have come in if we didn't try to stem the flow?

    Psst.
    Don't tell Nancy.

As Congress returns from recess this week with a full plate of priorities, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and other prominent Democrats have signaled they won’t allow a vote on the administration’s new agreement with Canada and Mexico without certain changes.

She's very busy, you know. Passing legislation and stuff. Then of course there was the time wasted on infrastructure.

    I don't know, that's why I ask.
It doesn't need to be exact, 1, 100, 1000, 10,000 kind of numbers is okay.

Well technically that is a pact, not a treaty so Pelosi would have say in that.

I think we all are arguing different things here.
