That is too bad. Now every Hans and Franz can cruise in front of their door. But it is almost like a trap, only one way in and same way out.

Great opportunity for Putin to eat them for breakfast! :toast:

Well it's not a trap....collapses and defeats have consequences, and I doubt Putinka wants to confront NATO on any kind of scale.

The p8 poseidon is not an air force aiircraft nor a spy plane.

It is a navy patrol plane designed to intercept surface and submarine threats.

    Try again with some accuracy

I was only dreaming in a silly way. Of course NATO would be prepared for any eventualities. Putin wouldn't know what hit him, but... nothing has happened yet, which shows how civil they all are.
Just wondering, from which base is NATO operating?

It was a correction based on fact, it was not a reprimand.

Try watching seinfeld for further education

Thank you very much, dear Apache Rat, for educating me in a kind way. That is truly a very slick looking air plane. Is it a German design??;-)
I didn't even know there are two types of air forces... all I know and remember is the "Luftwaffe".

So I guess you all now admit the Crimeans voted to secede from Ukraine and Russia didn't invade after all??

Because if it was an invasion....so much for confrontations. Even though Ukraine isn't in NATO, they are a willing participant.

Yes, I remember the incident with Ukraine. NATO would be a tad more difficult, though.
Oh, are they still around in Syria? Tartus, if I remember correctly.

Actually most assume that Russia did what it does very well and "Influenced" that vote to do what it did and take Crimea without forcing outside actions....Think of Georgia.

I think Putin knows what would hit him and he's prepared for it, but as Lavrov said, if nukes were eliminated, then we would be at war.

    And Russia is worried? :roflol:

Ukraine is not NATO, so it's none of it's concern. And as far as I know, the US left Syria in the capable hands of Assad and Russia.

Hey, the people in Crimea speak Russian, conduct business in Russian, go to school in Russia and marry Russians. Now what did you say about Russia influencing them? That's like saying Washington is influencing us to stay in the US. But then again the ridiculous is now commonplace.

Over time, dissatisfaction will grow in Russia. It's not a totalitarian country, and you can aleady see rumblings of discontent. However, 'standing up to the West' is Mr Putin's strong card. Most Russians, even liberal-minded ones will back him in any confrontation. His domestic strength will be increased in direct proportion to the apparent animosity of the West.

When Russia was weak, after communism collapsed, in the 90s, America treated Russia with contempt. Russians have not forgotten that.

Well...yeah, they voted with green men and AKs on every street corner....a week or so before the "referendum" was it?

That's why Ukraine aspires NATO, and the other Baltics, Former WP are in it. Vatniks have this post Soviet hangover thing about invading neighbors.

Yeah yeah yeah, keep believing that lie. Of course any sane-minded person can go back to the referendum Crimea had in 1991, and the vote was damn near identical.

I'm sorry but I've wised up to the bullshit spread by the fake news media. I've been on the ground there....so that's that.

When muslims wanted independence in Serbia, NATO bombed the majority....and now 'Kosovo' is recognized as people who had the right and freedom for self-determination.....

......But when the majority in Crimea wants the right to self-determination....oh hell no....because Russia Russia Russia.

    F that.
