What the heck is going on in this country, has everyone gone insane? How in the world is a commercial like this acceptable? That's right, keep cranking out the victims. And just in case they forgot they're victims, then keep reminding them. And what is the marketing strategy behind this, they're only targeting 6% of the population and not all of them believe they're victims.

At Vaseline, we know that systemic racism and healthcare inequities negatively impact Black and Brown communities. Skincare is no exception. So we’ve made it our mission to champion change needed to eradicate racism because we believe all people should have equal access to care. See how Vaseline is working towards equity in skincare at Vaseline.com.

They are a private company. They can say what they want.

He didn't say it wasn't legal he asked why it is acceptable. As a white person ads like these repel me away from their product so I will do the capitalist thing to do and buy any other skin care product other than Vaseline. I think the OP is just surprised as I think many other right leaning people are, that more white people do not speak out and boycott blatant racism like this. It's the only thing that will stop the pandering to victimization culture. Yes these companies are free to be as racist as they want. It just seems weird how so many people have been convinced that racism against whites is okay, but not racism that favors whites. You wouldn't see any companies calling on people to support "white owned businesses" as I see being done on cable TV networks for "black owned businesses".

Strawman: I didn't claim anything about the legality of this move as you errantly suggested. With all the REAL issues that face our nation, this seems like much ado about nothing. A company is targeting a market demographic. So what... Don't like their tactics? Don't patronize them.

Remember when commercials used to be about promoting a product? Was there something in that commercial that convinced you to buy it? We have enough people promoting victimhood and dividing this country, we don't need more of it.

Here's Vaseline's Facebook page and that commercial is on it. Vaseline seems to think there's only one race of people on this planet. The odd thing is, if these people wanted some Vaseline they would have grabbed some when they looted the stores that sell it.

I'm guessing there is something in that spot that might convince nonwhite people to buy the product? I'm not a dermatologist but since black folks have specialized products better suited to African hair? Would it not stand to reason they would also have specific needs for skin? I don't know the answer to that, but again I don't see what all the commotion is about. Seems like tilting at windmills when we are on the verge of possibly having most of the Constitution shredded by the incoming regime, particularly if they capture the Senate.

Vaseline is an oil industry product. Surprised me the Democrats are not attacking it too.

I don’t get triggered by commercials. Apparently some do. Life is too damn short to get triggered by so many things.

Agree. Tilting at windmills... A private company can make whatever commercials it wants and market to any customer it sees fit.

So basically the only way someone could see this commercial is if they went to Vaseline’s Facebook page. Do you often visit Vaseline’s Facebook page? I can honestly say I never have nor ever will. I dunno....maybe get a hobby so you’re not so bored you’re going onto Vaseline’s Facebook page.

Can't they target a demographic without pitting them against white people? This is where divisive politics stems from. Black women see this then they want to go out and protest and riot or whatever they do. It is a big problem facing this country today. As a white person I do not appreciate large corporations getting victim groups hating white people. Doesn't sound like the type of environment I would want to raise kids in

They figure they'll always have white people, so act nice to minorities and they'll like you and buy your stuff.

BTW, I have had a jar of vaseline for 10 years. At least. A little dab will do ya.

I feel racist for having bought it before they became woke.
