So I don't know if there's any vegans here or any vegetarians for that matter. But I want to plan a barbecue but I would like to include my vegan friends. Does anybody know any good barbecue type recipes that are vegan.

I've seen a pulled mushroom sandwich I tasted it and it's good but it'd be cool to have a little more.

If there's any vegans out there or people that cook for vegans that has any kind of idea on this I would love to hear it.

Just lie. Tell them the burgers and dogs are soy or tofu. Then after they've eaten tell them the truth... which will solve your actual problem... that you have vegan friends.

I used to be a vegan, some good substitutes would be:

Jackfruit (can substitute for pulled pork)
    Cauliflower wings
    Veggie kabobs
    Portobello burgers
Bbq tofu or tempeh (I personally find tempeh is better)
    Vegan friendly potato salad
Corn on the cob using Earth Balance Butter
    Baked Beans
    Bean salad
    Fruit salad

I don't mind having vegan friends as long as they aren't preachy.

    Jackfruit "Pulled Pork"
    Instructions:

Drain and rinse the jackfruit from the can. Rinse very well if your jackfruit was packed in brine. Chop off the hard center core portions, if desired with the tougher parts removed. Set aside.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent.

Add the jackfruit, BBQ sauce and 1/2 cup of water. Stir well to combine, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes on low-medium heat, stirring occasionally.

After 20 minutes, remove the lid and mash the jackfruit with a potato masher or two forks, to create a shredded texture so it resembled pulled pork. Add Sriracha hot sauce and salt to taste.

To finish, turn the heat up to high and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently. This helps it dry up a bit and get blackened in some spots, which makes it extra tasty! Serve with vegan friendly buns!
