'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you create atrocities' Voltaire

Chavez and Maduro would know; they practiced it religiously. I think Putin might have been their mentor. But perhaps it was Castro or Stalin.

You mean the trend of mass malnutrition and poverty created by socialist tyranny? Well to give the Chavez and Maduro their due, there is no more bourgeoisie in Venezuela, just desperately, hungry, stomachs.

The US will never give socialism a chance... they will sanction and destabilise any socialist government then turn around and blame the collapse of the country on socialism, especially when it comes to one that are rich in resources

Well they do... Trade war with China... Vietnam & Laos suffered for decades until they rolled over...

for example.... how quickly did China's economy improve when they embraced capitalism.... and then they became a threat....

The US has no sanctions on any of those countries. You're just making stuff up now.

The pressure on Venezuela by the US was immense. I know it was jail for certain if any American tried to buy oil under Chavez. The wealthy of course were furious for having their goods confiscated and I don't blame them, but revolutions do happen when the US is involved in another country.

Sanctions will not work anymore now that countries are trading off the dollar, and Venezuela can't be invaded since it has top arms from Russia. Washington's only alternative is massive propaganda and paid protesters to throw the country into a civil war - sort of like Ukraine. Oh well what else is new?

Well, first, China hasn't embraced capitalism, just certain parts of it. But more to the point: "when they embraced capitalism"? I would think that someone who posted this would recognize that it is "capitalism" that creates wealth, not America's foreign policy; and it is "socialism" that creates starvation, mass murder, and poverty; and again, not American foreign policy. Yet, you missed it.

How many chances? How many millions must die? How much horror and hell must socialism create before reality hits you in the head? Obviously, not enough yet. Wasn't the Kulaks enough? How many more Mao's Cultural Revolutions do you need? How many Cambodian killing fields do you want? What don't you understand about the rivers of blood and screams of horror, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez, Marudo created?

The history of socialism is covered with the blood of the "We the Living".

Venezuela military defends protests role, backs Maduro congress...

The military defended its record during the protests, in which Maduro opponents have staged daily demonstrations demanding elections, humanitarian aid to offset a brutal economic crisis, and ...

CARACAS (Reuters) - Decried by protesters as “murderers” defending a dictator, Venezuela’s military insisted on Thursday it was not taking sides in the national political turmoil, though it did back socialist President Nicolas Maduro’s controversial plan for a new congress.

The empty bellies, the empty zoo's, the rank poverty, and the streets of Caracas tell me all I need to know about VZ, Chavez, and Petrocaribe--Chavez's looting of the oil industry to line his own pockets.

Chavez was evil and destroyed his nation's economy. Socialism doesn't work.

Here's some bits and pieces from an in depth article in Fortruss.

On May 20, 2018, early presidential elections were held in Venezuela and Nicolas Maduro was re-elected for a new six-year term. He was elected with 67 per cent and the closest rival Henri Falcon polled just 21 per cent. The National Electoral Council together with international monitors from numerous international agencies, ruled that the elections Maduro won in 2018 were relatively free, fair, and clean.

He took office on January 10, 2019. The pro-U.S Lima Group decided that this election did not meet international standards and their document was signed by 13 Latin American countries. 20 nations did not sign it.

Washington picked Guaidó to be president, but he faces insurmountable legal challenges that prohibit him from being the ‘acting president’ of the country. Their claims are incoherent, while Maduro’s claim as president is air-tight.

Washington wants to justify a U.S backed coup the way they did in Ukraine so they could put Venezuela under US control.

**** Maduro, complete dictator, should be taken behind the chemical sheds and shot into a ditch without mercy.

Also, who cares who Trump thinks is in control? Venezuela is an independent nation, let them sort it out themselves.

Oh then you're an advocate of Washington's New Orwellian Dictionary where Presidents voted in by a majority are called 'dictators'. Interesting!

Washington's New Orwellian Dictionary - New addition:

Dictator - Head of state voted in by a majority.

Where did you get the idea that Chavez looted the oil industry?

It's none of our business. The same establishment that condemns Russia for allegedly interfering in our election is wants to overthrow an elected president and install a far-right fascist in his place.

No, I call someone who strips the legislature of power and consolidates his grip on power in the face of massive public protests a dictator. Someone who has ruled by decree for the vast majority of his term.

Again, I am firmly against any sort of foreign adventurism, I don't even support a standing army - so my view is unlikely to precipitate into regime change.

If those massive public protests constituted a majority Maduro wouldn't have received over 60% of the vote. Seems like you believe in minority rule, as long as they're loud enough and are backed by the MSM and President Trump.
