That fiery but mostly peaceful piece of propaganda was honestly one of the most astounding things I had ever seen. To see Dems so willingly refuse to condemn such violence and actually support it. That was a such an eye opener of our modern day left.

Atlanta Mayor Says the Quiet Part Out Loud About Saturday's Terrorism in Atlanta



Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens countered the lying fake news pro-terrorism ' narrative in his press conference on Saturday night. He also pointed out that most of the protesters aren’t local.'

'“Many of them don’t even live in Atlanta or in the state of Georgia, and they don’t represent the voices of Atlanta,” he said. “And some of them were found with explosives on them — you heard that correctly, explosives — and that has led to a police officer’s car being set on fire, and other destruction has occurred.”'

When you show up with explosives, you aren't coming to 'protest' you are coming to terrorize.

'“So make no mistake about it, these individuals meant harm to people and to property,” he continued. It’s worth pointing out that Dickens is a Democrat, but he’s not following the woke crime rhetoric of many Democrat mayors.'

Yea the Memphis deal is bad, black cops beating a black kid to death is probably the only thing saving that city. They immediately did the right thing, suspended then arrested the cops.

The crazy thing about these situations my family who lives in Memphis and Arkansas were getting messages all last week and weekend saying violence would be downtown, the message was almost as if it were letting everyone know where to go...

 

What concerns me is that there is no body camera footage of the incident according to the APD.

But if the accounts are true and accurate, the police had no choice since the protester in question apparently opened fire first.

The other problem is that this is a complex issue. Atlanta is the most surveilled city in the United States, more than NYC or Washington DC. The new police complex is in the woods just outside the city limits and from my understanding, the main reason for the protests is environmental, not BLM related, although BLM has now gotten involved too. The police building was approved in 2017 and it took from 2017 to 2022 to find a location. It is a training academy in a town similar to Quantico for Federal Law Enforcement in certain simulations on how to the police should handle certain criminal events or certain suspects.

 

For the police to be acting so swiftly before anything is released the video is going to be bad. Really bad.

I don't think the partisan blame-game works here because Georgia is still a still solid red State with Republicans controlling every statewide office, Republican majorities in the State House and Senate, as well as a complete Republican pick on the Georgia Supreme Court and yet.......this happens.

 

There were 6 arrests so far, all but one was from out of state who came to Atlanta to cause violence.

“ATLANTA — Six people were arrested Saturday night when protests over the future site of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center turned violent in Downtown Atlanta, police said.


Atlanta Police Department confirmed that five of the six people were arrested were from out of state. One person that was taken into custody was from Decatur. They are all being charged with domestic terrorism, a felony.


"They had explosives, they burned down a police car, they broke windows at businesses," Dickens said on CBS Face the Nation. "And so our police department, along with our state and federal partners took swift action within two blocks and brought that situation under control. And the violence stopped."
