Have it shipped to a gun dealer in an adjoining state, go pick them up and then take them home. This is a good example of why we need less federal government. Citizens have a choice of where to live. If they don't like the laws in a given state, they can move to another one. Big problem with federal laws. Virginia doesn't understand that laws that have a purpose only to reduce freedom are wrong. Government has a responsibility to protect freedom. Our country was founded on that concept.
Long guns you can, depending on the state law. But no hand guns can be purchased from an FFL outside your home state. I was head of ATF compliance for a large gun store in Ohio for 4 years.
I should have been more specific. Long guns can be transferred, depending on state law. Hand guns can not.
What about the guns sold through Gunbroker.com. I have shipped handguns to FFL's in other states. It seems like a common practice.
