Well, science doesn't care what you believe. Sodium chloride also forms cubic crystals. Here is a diagram the math behind cubic crystals.

It would be quite shocking if these spacecraft didn't return information of general interest to anyone who cares about planets other than Earth.

We will hear about that, as information from missions such as this are made public. Japan and Europe will show what they find out about Mercury.

What ever happened to the perchlorate issue and Mars?
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perchlorate
The possibility that the perchlorate was a contaminant brought from Earth has been eliminated by several lines of evidence. ... With concentrations approaching 0.5% and exceeding toxic levels on Martian soil, Martian perchlorates would present a serious challenge to human settlement, as well as microorganisms.

    _____________________________________________________

That's like Clorox in the soil! To toxic extremes. Great antimicrobial, don'tchyaknow.
I don't think potatoes would grow too well in Martian soil.
Reminds me of the Star Trek episode The Way To Eden.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Way_to_Eden Remember? Beautiful and toxic.

They (the 'probes' ) won't even go there, never mind find anything out. I think one of the differences between us (apart from our credulity) is that you care about other planets whereas I only care about things more worldly. I do still keep wondering if 'Parker' has melted yet - what do you think?

However you dress it up, those in the pics weren't dug out of the ground like it!

Good for you for keeping such a close eye on matters inter-galactical. Me? I can think of a squillion things before breakfast that I'd rather be doing. One of them is watching paint dry!

They were polished up, and the crystals are normally hidden in the matrix of the other rocks, but the cubic form was not changed. Pyrite forms cubic crystals. Look it up if you don't believe me. Or, if you don't trust the Internet and want to see cubic crystals with your own eyes, follow the instructions here: https://www.exploratorium.edu/cooking/candy/recipe-rockcandy.html and you can make cubic sucrose crystals.

How much you want to bet? There is a thriving market for natural crystals which is why the first specimen is on a plinth

That isn't how they came out of the ground; they were (to use the word loosely) manufactured. tecoyah stands 'em up, I knock 'em down??

I see...so your little goalpost gets moved again. Straight lines are shown to you in nature, but they were not dug up in front of you so....nope. Straight lines are shown to you on video using nothing but natural materials and heat but...not in a volcano in your living room so.....nope. Basically we can show you the straight lines in your tree outside and you will deny they are there making you nothing but an ignorant internet troll who cannot even do THAT very well. You should now put me on ignore or stomp on the floor in frustration that I am not worth it again because you just got beaten again.

I only said those pictured were not in their natural state, nor were the ones in your video. I've never said they couldn't be manufactured?

PS I've just added a little something to the one you're reply to . . . apropos standing up, and knocking down?

Scuse me but I've already admitted I was wrong about 'there are no straight lines in nature'. I reiterate - my present focus is on the two pics earlier in the thread.

'if its bewdy wasn't good enough for some'?

I had not realized you admitting to being wrong and am quite astounded if you did....if so it might be a good start.

    Only 3,782 more to go.
