"Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go? Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President's absolute right to appoint ambassadors,"

If he is going to be accused of a legal crime then legal standards apply. How is voicing his opinion about someone who is attacking him an abuse of office?

He didn't say responsible and his statement was true. Nothing to do with character and she was replaced long before she ever gave testimony and her testimony was given days before the tweet, if he wanted to intimidate her he would have done it before then.

    *LOL*

Explain how the US Ambassador is responsible for the condition of the country that they're stationed.

Jamie Raskin (D-MD) who is on Judiciary, is appearing on MSNBC in the next segment... perhaps he can answer your questions..

    I myself cannot...

My personal thought is that none of that should happen in the House, regardless of past precedent... The impeachment is equivalent to an indictment, and the defense doesn't participate in an indictment. I'd like to see all regular trial actions in the Senate trial.

For those who couldn't make that segment, Raskin didn't provide any answers....

    I myself am not shocked...

Bucky, how did Yovanovitch ruin Somalia?

How is any US Ambassador responsible for the condition of the country in which they're stationed?

    Cool story.

"...as far as I recall her name was Ivanovich. It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough."

Sure, except for the part where what a POTUS can be impeached for is defined by the Constitution, which Congress doesn't get to interpret.

The House of Reps isn't a court of law. The Senate is where charges are brought.

    Good luck with that.

So yeah, other than being completely wrong again, sure.

Err yes, if you are going to charge him with a crime then the criminal standard applies. The HIGH CRIME has to meet the crime.

Why? Explain how the Obama administration policies and results through her were good?

Let's assume that it was "oh!!! Waaahhh! So horrible".

How would that be Yovanovitch's fault. At all?

They are part of the administration which is conducting that policy giving advice to the President and being the point person.

Did things, US relations and our national interest there get better or worse in Somali during her tenure as Ambassador? Did the country get better or worse? According to Trump worse and that's all that matters.

Uh, no. He suggested that it was her fault. Which is inherently stupid.

But it's not your job to be as confused as him, is it?

She's wasn't the ambassador to Somalia... let's lead with that... it was her FIRST posting in the foreign service

    SNIP
To suggest that as a junior member of the American delegation she could bear any responsibility for the breakdown is the height of absurdity. Somalia defeated the efforts of even seasoned diplomats and generals to turn it around. That’s evident from America’s catastrophic military intervention in 1992.

The actual dates of Yovanovitch’s posting to Somalia are unclear. We know that she joined the foreign service in 1986, and that Somalia was her first assignment.

Actually, a good candidate for Trump's tombstone (somewhere in Mexico) - The Height of Absurdity

EDIT - FWIW, I don't think his tweet would be considered witness intimidation. He's done that in the past (mentioning Cohen's father in law was 100%), and this was a typical Trump low life move, but I wouldn't go so far as witness intimidation for that one..

You stated that Bonespurs' claim was "true". Aside from the fact that virtually nothing that slips out of his blubbery lips is "true", how was what he stated was true?

They do, which makes the smear campaign against her even more strange. Makes me think it was a Rudy and his pals and they managed to dupe trump.

What smear campaign? The only smear campaign I see is from Democrats smearing a duly elected President and trying to overturn the election results of 2016.
