No it hasn't. Cop deaths are extremely rare considering the line of work. And deaths have dropped consistently over time.

And that should result in a murder charge. You should be required to see an actual threat before responding, not a possibility of a threat.

This was the man's home and guns are allowed in the home in every state in the country. If you can't handle a resident coming to the front door with a gun, find a new line of work.

I don't disagree. I viewed the clips and thought the cop was in the wrong. I still think that. However, that doesn't change the fact that I believe I would have responded the same way if I had the viewpoint of the cop that shot. The viewpoint of the other cop didn't show any aggression or non-compliance. Someone in this thread disagrees. It's hard to know how we would respond in ANY real life situation. We've all gone over incidents in our heads and wished we had acted differently. It's part of being human.

As harsh as it may seem, there are some cops that should not wear the badge. Only more transparency and honest review and disciplinary by a third-party entity will help cull the herd of the "trigger happy", "unfit for duty" and others of that ilk.

The cops have shot a lot of black people. They've decided to shoot more white people to 'level the playing field'.

Then again, who answers the door with a gun and just walks right out. Wouldn't that scare you if you were an Officer? Wouldn't it mean that the man had the drop on the Officers were he inclined to kill them?

Your guess is completely incorrect. And he didn't point a gun at anyone. He had the gun at his side and immediately began putting it down and raising his other hand in surrender when he saw it was the cops.

He was already complying when they shot. The lesson here should be one for the cops in this case to learn about irresponsible use of force.

It's a dangerous situation for everyone involved. About 20 years ago I lived in a similar type of apartment complex and a cop came banging on my door in the middle of the night. I knew it was because the a-hoe that lived across from me was fighting with his girlfriend again.

I opened my door and the cop shined a bright light in my face to blind me, and then the other cop yelled that he had found the a-hoe that lived across from me. That was the last apartment I ever lived in, and I'll never live in one again.

I assume that you know that this is because the country is majority white.

I don't think that's QUITE right. I think it's clear that black lives killed by cops matter to Black Lives Matte, but nothing more.

I can't understand how he was shot in the back if he was facing the cops at the front door after answering the door. The article that you link to says "WATCH", but there's no video.

No that isn't why. It's about behavior. And black lives matter is a masquerade to sanction criminality and frustrate justice.

One Officer was to the right of the door. Another Officer was to the left. When the man inside opened the door, he stepped out, gun in hand, and acknowledged the Officer to the left. He did not know the other Officer was behind him to the right of the door. That's the Officer who shot him, moreso in his side than in his back, and nearly point blank. It also looked like he was in the attitude of placing the gun down toward the ground with his right hand. At the same time, his left hand, he splayed out as if to say, okay I submit, I am not a threat. But the Officer behind him misread him and opened fire.

Maybe they took it down. But, basically, the guy was putting his gun on the ground and, as he was crouching, the guy to his side and facing his back shot him.

Behaviour? I don't understand what you mean - it's not as if white people commit more crime.

Yeah, I've now seen the bodycam footage. The article mentioned that there are two angles of bodycam footage, which made me think that the footage from both of the officers was public, but the shooting officer's footage doesn't appear to be public.

It's in the video in the article linked in the OP. Not sure why it isn't showing for you, but it is still showing for me. Maybe it is a browser issue? I will say that it takes some time to load. Still, it's there. Not sure why you can't see it. Is the video showing up for you at all?

I can see it now on my other device. It's extraordinary, because every other video of the bodycam footage that I found only shows the non-shooting officer's footage.

As is usual with the narrative, some key facts are missing.
