WATCH: Woman violently arrested for not adhering to dress code in Iran

Iran has ordered an investigation after a video surfaced showing police pushing and pulling a young woman who was resisting arrest for not adhering to imposed dress code.
The semi-official ISNA news agency reported Thursday that Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli has requested a “comprehensive investigation and report” into the police’s handling of the matter.
The video, circulated on social media, shows several police, including policewomen, trying to escort the woman from a public park. Another young woman shouts at the police to go easy on her, saying she has a heart condition.
Under Iranian law, women must wear long, loose garments and cover their hair in public.

You are thinking of our friends the Saudis. The Iranian woman are very fashionable. There are some that are covered in loose black garments, but they might be widows. It was also common at one time in the Mediterranean countries. As for the scarves, they are attractive.

Yeah if you're going to be oppressed might as well look good doing it.

 

What this proves is that when women are fashionable, they can get around anything. The scarves are attractive and do not cover all their hair, and the jeans and leggings are a smart way of wearing mini skirts without revealing ones legs.

To be honest, I find the way they dress much better than some of the obscenities we see here - but I won't go into that. Hopefully the day will come when aesthetics will reign once more, instead of the absurd.

 

I doubt it since you make a habit of pulling things out of the air. Anyway how would they know they are non citizens? What I do know is that in Russia they only recognize one Jewish faith, not the rest of them, nor do they recognize the 20 thousand plus Christian faiths.

Women in Iranian society have much more independance than the ones in your ally Saudi Arabia's.

 

Just watched the video. Where is this violent arrest? All I see and hear is a lot of shouting and a woman sitting on the floor resisting any arrest. Perhaps someone should point out to the Saudi website that the woman could be lashed in SA for wearing the wrong clothes

No she wasn't. One woman grabbed her on the arm after which she sat down onto the ground. All there was is a lot of shouting

 

There are men present also but its the hags in black who are doing all the talking

 

The men did not touch her. Most of the shouting and screaming was coming from the friends of the woman they were trying to arrest. There was no violence and no arrest. She just sat on the floor

Sure they do, except when they're arrested for removing their hijab or shot during a peaceful protest.
