So your corruption is better than their corruption? Amazing tolerance you have for the clown in chief's finagling.

That's the simple version, what he has already garnered through corruption will like make him as rich as Putin is, in much less time.

Corruption is corruption. There is no "far worse" corruption.

Agreed, no level of corruption is to be tolerated......it's a slippery slope and downhill is the direction every society will take. This is what surprises me the most, are people willing to excuse bad practices because of who is leading "the tribe" especially after Trump campaigned about "draining the swamp".

What Trump actually said was "Drain the schmucks wallets" but he mumbled the last part.

If the GOP had put the country first, Trump would never have been the nominee.

So the guy who skims $5.00 for a burger and fries is the same as Hillary Clinton getting a $2.3 million donation to the Clinton Foundation from the Russians to approve the Russian Uranium One deal?

Theoretically yes. By your comparison scale, Trump will break records likely into the billions.

I see what you did there and won't go down the partisan rabbit hole with you.

I'll say this… A guy who skims $5 for a burger and fries is the same as a company opening thousands of accounts without those customers' knowledge, in order to pay bonuses. The only difference is scale. Scamming is scamming and corruption is corruption.

I am reminded of story attributed to Winston Churchill (but also others) ...

Are you saying the poor inner city who steals a loaf of bread because he's hungry should be punished the same as the banker "opening thousands of accounts without those customers' knowledge, in order to pay bonuses" then, am I correct?

He is saying (IMO) that the punishment should fit the crime but the crime is still the crime of corruption.

You never mentioned punishment, so now you're changing the goalposts. Are you saying that the poor inner city person stealing bread to eat won't be punished more harshly than the white-collar banker scamming money from customers? The Wells Fargo CEO was allowed to resign after firing 5300 employees for doing what they were told to do and making billions. They ended up paying out $200Million to settle. The poor inner city person caught stealing bread would be in jail until trial because he couldn't make bail. Are you claiming that's any kind of fair treatment considering the two crimes?

My point is that stealing is stealing, scamming is scamming, and corruption is corruption. The only difference between the criminality is scale. It's also a shame that the bigger the crime, often, the less the punishment.
