Trump has always despised Wall Street - especially the bankers. Trump has always had leverage over his lenders usually with no personal liability.

Certainly not - but he can suggest what laws be made - and does have some power to make those suggestions heard - influence policy and so on ... as does the administration in general.

But in more general terms - I agree - The President is a relatively small piece in a much bigger game. The Establishment does not answer to the President ... the President answers to the Establishment - meaning - the main big money influences to which Trump owes and gives fealty.

We do have checks on power in this nation .. they just don't work :) .

Good grief, he's only been in office 2-1/2 yrs. Do you really expect him to have fixed everything you consider wrong with world finances, tax loopholes and monopolies?

Ridiculous. It's like blaming him for everything previous world leaders perpetuated. He s a great President, but no miracle worker. IMO, your objections are irrelevant... like scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to complain about.

Sure wish I could attend tonight's rally, but look forward to watching a live feed. Bet the progress in Turkey makes for a great backdrop for this rally! Lots of friends going, can't wait to hear their feedback!

Trump has almost no support from the political establishment. They are afraid of him because he has a very large bipartisan anti-establishment mass movement behind him, but over 70 Republican in the House voted to oppose him on Syria.
Our politicians would love to start nullifying elections by removing Trump from office.
The Congress will not do anything for Trump until after the next election, and only if scores of RP/DP pols are sent back home by the voters.

I think Trump should try to find a few new populist issues to put before the voters, but that might eliminate the residue of RP support he needs to survive an impeachment trial. As you know I think he should call for transferring control over a large part of governments' budgets to the working class in the form of individual vested accounts for meeting critical life needs like healthcare and education.

IMO, show voters the money and they will vote to gain control of it.

Trump made a great pick in Mike Pence-the Silver Fox.

I will certainly be watching the rally tonight-let us know what your friends say!

    Meanwhile in Dallas...

One needs not scrape any barrel bottoms to find problems with Trump - the barrel is overflowing. You would rather I have brought up important stuff like Stormy Daniels and pee parties. My apologies for trying to speak sense.

Trump despises the lower classes - as per the ideology "biological determinism" aka (social darwinism) as per what Daddy taught him. He is an elitist of the highest order and that is who he caters to.

You laughably build a strawman - fix "Everything" - Trump hasn't fixed anything. He is an Establishment wonk who has maintained the Status Quo in most every respect that matters.

That's better. For a minute there, thought you could see past TDS.

How you gonna feel when he's reelected?

I am not sure what will happen in the next election .. which is odd because I usually have more of an inkling ...and this assuming Trump makes it that far - which is no slam dunk. Washington seems to be devouring him at the moment.

What may happen is that now that Damascus is working with the Kurds - and Russia is mediating - this situation might just be quickly resolved - and Trump will come out smelling like a rose. Have not bothered to follow " Ukrainegate" so not sure if that will go anywhere.

The Dems candidates are a sorry lot .. and I have not seen anything significant to "vote for" No one who is in the top 5 has demonstrable anti establishment street cred .. Warren is too fake .. Sanders is too old .. Biden is too damaged .. and getting senile.

Buttigieg ? - slim pickens these are.

I am not an anti Trumper - never have been .. . have been defending his decision to pull out of Syria in numerous threads .. some of which I created.

That doesn't change the fact that Trump is an Establishment Wonk . and that you are inflicted with partisan blindness.

Lacking something coherent to say - when confronted with factual information that conflicts with your beloved Trump fantasy - you default to posting pictures in an attempt to demonize the messenger.

    Lovely :)

You have no factual information. Only vague insults and repeated fake news... like all the haters.

    These are facts.

It is a catch 22 election for the RP/DP. Trump will almost certaionly win if they do not remove him from office, but if they remove him from office they will enter unchartered waters where there be Kraken waiting for them. ;-)

This is a 'Do you feel lucky punks? Well, do ya?' moment for our political class. They may think Trump will go down like Nixon.
Entrenched elites are seldom very smart.
