The Great Failure Of The Climate Models
    [IMG]
    ...real-world data aren’t cooperating...

Computer models of the climate are at the heart of calls to ban the cheap, reliable energy that powers our thriving economy and promotes healthier, longer lives. For decades, these models have projected dramatic warming from small, fossil-fueled increases in atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, with catastrophic consequences.

Yet, the real-world data aren’t cooperating. They show only slight warming, mostly at night and in winter. According to the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, there has been no systematic increase in the frequency of extreme weather events, and the ongoing rise in sea level that began with the end of the ice age continues with no great increase in magnitude. The constancy of land-based records is obvious in data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The media lie to the people... as well as statistics.

But it's the Trumpsters' way of believing that everyone loves Trump.

Sometimes you vote against a personal self interest for the good of all. Conservative/libertarian women, especially the less wealthy ones, tend to do that because they sometimes do benefit for awhile from Democrat hand outs. But conservative women love America and Americans, value liberty, promote a free and prosperous nation that offers opportunity and choices to improve their circumstances so they don't need handouts. So voting for President Trump is in my interest and in all women's interest except those who want to play the victim card and have others provide for them.

Republican women tend to be less educated and evangelical.

Further, the USA has by far reduced carbon emissions and promoted green energy usage a great deal more than any of the other G-7 countries.

Meanwhile, all the other G-7 countries remain heavily dependent on coal and the developing coutnries who are increasing coal consumption--Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, and India--alone represent more than 2 billion or more than 1/4th of the world population.
    https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/08/g-7-meeting-climate-action-no-agreement/

Add in China's 1.4 billion people and that it alone represents 51% of global demand, its claims to be reducing consumption don't count for a whole lot. Evenmoreso when the reduction in consumption is actually a reduction in the growth of consumption. China has been increasing its coal production including opening new mines.
    https://www.forbes.com/sites/judeclemente/2019/01/23/coal-is-not-dead-china-proves-it/#7fdb114365fa

IMO, all this means is that other than the USA which is the country doing the best job cutting its carbon footprint, all the other G-7 countries put together don't amount to more than a tiny blip in the whole equation. And the Greenland and Arctic ice caps are still there, the seas have not inundated coastal cities, and despite AOC's prophecy of doom, we're all likely to be here and in good shape 12 years from now as well.

President Trump is absolutely right that the USA should not commit itself to extremely costly and intrusive agreements that are not going to accomplish anything re the climate and are not in the best interest of the American people. And him not showing up for a climate meeting yesterday made absolutely no difference to anybody.

I think the most interesting thing about this is that it's all over goofy right wing media...

The right wing media spends all their time taking "stories", usually dumb ones like this, and spinning them into either negative if it's a Dem or positive if it's Trump.

And then these things get parroted all over right wing land whether they have a shred of validity or not. Just complete conjecture and gossipy bull based on nothing.

    Total tabloid BS.

In spite of all the theatrics by the left, Donald Trump is doing what he does best... wheeling & dealing. Only this time, the beneficiary is America. :)

If you're talking about the Japan trade deal, nothing has been finalized. Even if it is, and it's for the full 7 billion as advertised, he's still about 9 billion short of what the farm bailout bill is for.

You can do whatever you like to try to rain on everybody's parade, but the fact is President Trump is daring to actually make good deals for America instead of for everybody else but us as we had in the previous Administration. No change occurs without some bumps in the road and temporary pain--sort of like getting stitches to close an open wound--but the end result is worth it. And not just Obama, but Bush 43 and Clinton and probably further back than that all cut deals with other countries that provide some benefit but mostly slowly bleed us to death--we have a hell of an open wound. President Trump is the first President we've had in a long time determined to stop the bleeding.

Fine. It's a start. He still hasn't gotten out of the hole he dug. $9 billion short, and nothing has been finalized. Excuse me if I don't see it for its greatness.

To be clear, that's only measured against the direct payouts to farmers. It doesn't include the increased costs passed along to consumers due to the tariffs.
