What do you have to lose?

It WILL protect others and it might protect you.

    What's the problem?

We ARE in the midst of a global pandemic and live in a nation which has the most infections and deaths IN THE WORLD

I don't know if it's just me, but I think it makes people look nicer. Especially females. It enhances their eyes, in my opinion. I know I look better. Not because it enhances my eyes, but because it covers half of my ugly face. After all this is over, it might even become a fashion. And there are pretty cool designs out there.

I say, at least see how you look.

I suggest trying reverse psychology. There is pretty solid evidence that will produce better results in your targeted demographic than nagging. Seriously.

    Crazy idea:

Wear one if you want to, and not if you don't want to.

Don't impose your will on others.

If you don't wear a mask in a private business that requires a masks (shirts and shoes, remember) aren't you trying
to impose your will on the owner of the business?

    Crazier idea:

Follow the recommendations of health experts by wearing a mask in situations where you are going to be around non-immediate family members and can not maintain social distancing.

A warm and damp breeding ground for germs? It's like using chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out. You wear your obedience rag. I'll cough or sneeze into my shirt, downwind of others.

Might come to that though seeing as how our leadership is promising there wont be another shutdown whilst our medical professionals are warning COVID's winter wrath could be worse than we've seen so far. Society collectively imposes its will all the time, usually its aimed at the common good, and I think this is one of those times.

I'd rather our leadership, speaking specifically about President Trump and other influential Republicans, stop attacking masks and try to encourage people to use them. But if they wont and if they choose to make it another divisive issue then we the people have the power to take matters into our own hands. We can demand businesses require masks for entry, we can organize boycotts and paint them as being anti-community if they don't, we can make fight just as hard from our end and we'll have the virtue of being in the interests of a healthy community whilst the opposition wont have much better to do than cling to an erroneous notion this is a matter of 'freedom' or 'rights' and look bad while doing it.

Little bird told you? Even if true, it can linger there. Plus who wants to breath their own exhaust fumes?

Hand sanitizer and hand washing more than make up for a rag on your face.

Why should we take that advice from someone who doesn't know that RNA viruses cannot replicate outside of a host?

In an environment where empty hospitals are talking about closing and there IS NO COMPREHENSiVE testing program, the entire burden of containment is on the people with controls like distancing or masks, and it is bound to fail.

Looks more like the psyops testing populations within the larger social engineering aspect.

The CDC's original argument against masks still has validity! The spread of germs to your face can be far worse. There isn't a person out there that doesn't raise and lower the same mask over and over again using their dirty hands. And gloves aren't free from germs either so don't suggest that.

I am not against the mask, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking they are going to save us all! They may be 10% more effective than no mask, if that much.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

This is a major medical societal emergency and somehow "certain " Trumpers see this as a burden?

What do you have to lose? Why would you have an issue with this? Do you WANT to spread this virus?

I have a few ideas, none of them good. If I said some of it, it would violate the safe space rules.

I live in a Republican county, for the most part, except when at the beach (which chaos of wind helps the safety there), they are mostly wearing masks in stores...

WHO: "There is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any potential benefit. In fact, there's some evidence to suggest the opposite in the misuse of wearing a mask properly or fitting it properly," Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO health emergencies program, said at a media briefing in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday.

This was their statement at the end of March. Did we learn more that somehow masks are going to help protect people? Not really. What happened was the PPE shortage problem was mostly resolved and now they want to sell more masks. If you stay away from others (aka: social distancing; albeit I call it physical distancing) and wash your hands often you are doing the best you can.

There are places you are going to go to that you either must wear a mask or don't go there. So be it.

What so few understand is the average person touches their face more than 2,000 times a day. Those telling you to not touch your mask when your hands could be infected are short sighted on the fact that people touch their face and will touch their mask without even knowing it. This is fact. Yes, with unclean hands.
