Now in days I get most of my information from alternative sources instead of legacy media. Having said that I'd like to compile a list of some of my favorite sources and as I'm always open to broadening my horizons I'd like some of your favorites....

    Favorite YouTube sources:
The red elephants Vincent James (right leaning)
    Steven Crowder (right)
    Tim Poole (ind)
    Joe Rogan(ind)
    Jimmy Dore (left??)
    Secular Talk (left)

Also if this is in the wrong spot sorry

All the OP's plus Ben Shapiro (right)

Also, for current events every major tv news network has a youtube channel

I rarely ever use YouTube or Facebook as a news source.

And I'm pretty sure that Al Qaeda wasn't upset over a Youtube video that led to the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi.

It was just another Obama White House and Secretary of State Crooked Hillary cover up.

Those aren't information sources, they're opinion sources. I'd only trust actual information on YouTube if it's coming from an expert speaking in their field. Anything political would require further reading of independent sources, which if you do anyway renders the partisan videos pointless. I also have a specific issue with video in this context because it makes it much easier to manipulate and skip over logical flaws compared to written prose.

Which news coverage isn't opinion? It all is.......

The best way to understand issues are to listen to multiple sides of the issue like as you'll see in my list I have favorites from all the political spectrum......

If an issue peaks your interest enough then go on the .gov to verify but unless you sit around all day reading through those that strategy doesn't seem like an efficient use of time.

The only one out of that list I like is Rogan, but I wouldn't consider him news. More like getting really interesting people to get high and talk about interesting stuff.

The others like Crowder are just opinion guys.

For news, I don't have anything in particular. A lot of things simply fly past my radar. But let's see...

Ya know, for news, I don't really know what's happening, unless it's something that comes up here. Then I check to see what the deal is. I guess I'm a lot like my grandfather. He would listen to baseball games on his AM radio while sitting outside on nice days, but the reality is that the 60s and 70s passed him right by. I doubt he even knew about watergate.

You initially asked about information sources rather than news sources, which I see as two different things, with opinion being a third. Someone being tried for an alleged crime is news (which you can get from general news reports), the technical details of the statute they're being charged under is information (which you get from some kind of legal expert) and whether they should be found guilty is opinion (which you can get from pretty much anyone, whether you want it or not ;) ).

There are always issues with personal bias and opinion influencing news coverage (and even formal information sources) but sources specifically created to present from a political angle is a step further. More honest maybe, but no less reliable for facts and unvarnished news.

I'm all for multiple sources but there are plenty of news sources without any (or much) political bias at all (though I do have the slight advantage of living in the UK on that. Our newspapers are generally awful, with a few exceptions, but TV news isn't all that bad overall ;) ). Another problem with your sources for general news is that they're only going to cover things that are relevant to their political angle in some way. If something doesn't have any political angle, you risk not hearing about it at all.

I don't get news from YouTube.

Abcnews cbs news nbc news all has there coverage there as well lol beyond that YouTube journalists are the same as fox or CNN political pundits. Often times you'll get a better picture online than on TV because some things aren't allowed to be talked about on tv

Shapiro rubs me all kinds of wrong ways, the BBC is just british propaganda, al jazeera is muzzie propaganda, dunno about the guardian, and the young turks are imbeciles.

Of them all, I think tyt is the most honest. None of them are very bright, but they aren't lying. Still, it's like listening to a paranoid dullard.

Secular Talk, David Pakman and Kim Iversen.

I read most of my news, but if I check youtube I prefer to just get to the news story and not have to sift through tons of culture war nonsense.

Jordan Peterson made his name by being anti-SJW. He's a smart guy, but he dumbs it down a bit too much for his new audience.
The Weinsteins are idiots who worked for the worst sort of college in the world. Getting fired doesn't make them any better than what they were.
Rubin... oh jeez, that guy is definitely not worth listening to.
Molyneux has his moments, but he's not as intelligent as he thinks he is.
    I like Mcinnis, but he's a comedian.

I don't know the others, although I have heard their names.

From what I know, they're not offering news. It's news that is combined with opinion on what the news means. Sorry, but I don't need or really value their opinions.

Kim Iversen is a breath of fresh air. Smart and fact oriented. I disagree with her half the time. I hope she dosen't burn out.

I have a conservative/independent bent. I stopped watching TV news decades ago because there was so little factual content. I can stand Tucker Carlson sometimes.
I am pro nationalist (for all nations) and anti-war. Anti-US intervention.

manhattan contrarian - concise quantitative analysis of financial, energy, and climate issues

News agrregators, where I look at the link titles and maybe click.
    http://directorblue.blogspot.com/
gatesofvienna.net international and immigration [but the wife just died so not much right now]
realclearpolitics - every side of an issue
powerlineblog for mn and some national legal related stuff

    youtube commentary
theduran - great international commentary! Not pro US.or pro Israel. Raise ur IQ!
styhexenhammer666 - freaky looking but entertaining, short. Current material.
Kim Iversen - new and refeshing. Self described progressive but anti-war and smart.
caspianreport - not current news but great
visualpolitik - not current news but good, if he could only manage the music volume
RT - for a different slant.

wayoftheworld, blackpigeonspeaks,. blackpilled - all pro nationalist, thoughtful, international, not too long or too frequent. They make me think.

ADVChina, SerpentZA, laowhy86, indigotraveller - all good travel commentary on what they see and report. Honest. The first three names were mostly China for many years. Not political mostly.

computerphile - computer history and stuff, for geeks

realengineering, curious droid, wendover productions, everyday astronaut, scott manley, Socratica - for geeks
