This isn’t the place for a theological argument but let me say simply not believing in God using his children for firewood is naive to say the least. Isaiah CH13:V.11 comes to mind but maybe you’re thinking of a differerent God, not the God of Isaiah Ch 13.V.11?

And on an entirely different note I share your admiration for Rand’s ‘Anthem’ and her epistemology but not her political/economic theory.
    Now back to the music. - - - - - -

Great lyrics and fabulous reading/acting but for me the music becomes monotonous after about 2 mins.

In my younger days, I preferred the long versions. I usually looked at singing as the interruptions between the instrumental parts.

It's anything but naive, my friend, but I am curious why you would say such a thing.

By the way, I'm an Agnostic like yourself.

Clearly, I don't believe in a vengeful God, whether it be that of Isaiah, John, Muhammad or anyone else.

Interesting. How did you know I liked Anthem? That and Walden are two of my favorite books.

As for Rand, there's a lot to like and dislike about her...

I mistook you for a believer who thought God was the supposed ‘all loving father’.

Two of mine although before I was halfway through Walden I knew Thoreau’s utopian vision wasn’t an easy one to maintain in the ‘real world’.
As to how did I know about Anthem, your objectivist leanings are all there in your forum profile and I peeked.

Indeed and too many, especially academic philosophers, through intellectual snobbery underestimate her ongoing and powerful influence .

Brilliant vocals. The tuning of the guitars is off though but this could be what makes the overall effect so bloody insane and scary.

Heroin music, they weren't scared, they reveled in it, until it just didn't work anymore

Maybe the scaryness of that song wasn't experienced or intended by the musicians themselves, but I sure feel it.
