You asked it abortion was legal. Absence of law against makes it legal. I hope this clarifies it for you. Sorry you are having such hard time with this.
So, you didn't actually have any issues with what I said, I guess. I think "non-cnsensual" makes it slightly more clear that there are those who by statute can not consent even if they want to.
In terms of the whole discussion, I really don't see where you are going with your various posts or what argument you have for going there. I guess you can nit pick the definition of rape or push other minutia, and that comes under the heading of "views on abortion", I suppose. But, if there is something more important to you, it might be good to discuss that instead.
Sex with anyone "who by statute can not consent even if they want to" is rape. So I'm not sure what your point is.
My only point was that a previous poster purposefully excluded this category of pregnancy. I stated that clearly. Then, you decided to jump in on terminology which made no difference to anything I posted, as far as I can tell. So, that's why I asked if you had a comment beyond terminology.
We were talking about travel bans. You said "there is no law against" them. I replied: Then you replied:
We're not talking about the word "always." We're talking about the word SEX! You said "women think SEX is fun, they have sex for fun." You did NOT say, women think CONSENSUAL sex is fun, they have CONSENSUAL sex for fun. You just said "SEX!" By your own standards, that includes RAPE! I am simply using your own standards against you, but of course you don't want to live by your own standards!
And......I was right? You ask such questions which would be so easy for you to look up yourself. I'm not sure why I even bother educating you on things everyone should already know. Is abortion legal? Yes. Is there a law against travel? No.
LOL, of course you don't want to since I pointed out the difference between my statements and yours and the BIG DIFFERENCE is YOUR use of the word "always"...
We've already addressed that argument in other threads. The short of it is that a woman could still end up prosecuted by her home state even if she did it in another state, due to jurisdiction being attached to the fetus. There already are numerous special laws against travel on the books in certain situations. (For example, it's illegal to transport women across state lines for "immoral purposes") That is just touching on the issue. I won't talk about that here with you. You can go find one of the other threads that specifically discusses that topic.
Irrelevant.
That sounds logical but...... if the evidence is true that the child has a level of consciousness even before conception and if they volunteered to become the child who was not wanted........ ... for some truly deep and philosophically courageous reason.... then that is up to the child. Chapter five of this book goes into some possible explanations for why that might be..... http://www.allaboutchristian.com/spirituality/index.html
… and if the tooth fairy was real and elephants danced in my backyard and if and if... There is no "child" before birth....and even if there was how do they send out a message? On their phone? Morse code? Still can't explain anything on your own??? Sad to note that you don't mind forcing women to act as broodstock….sure get to the core of the matter, misogyny...wanting a raped women to suffer and receive more punishment than the rapist
No matter how you look at it....abortion is wrong. It is a sin against the natural process of life and above all, a sin against God.
