That level of fantasy is seldom found outside a bad sci-fi novel.

A healthcare system you say is better, whether they like it or not.

People will like not having to pay a co-payment at the time of treatment, they just walk right in and get treated.

I have often thought to myself that it would be nice if everyone could get treated for free. On Medicaid benefits, like vision and dental, are the best. Medicaid is possibly the best insurance available. So it's the best possible model for a buy-in for higher incomes.

Being an :oldman: I am on MediCare.
    It sucks! :angered:
The volume of paperwork is absurd. Does anyone really read it?
Holes not covered, I buy a supplemental Plan F to just do it.
So with quarterly MediCare payments of $1,500 a year, plus another $1,200 a year for Plan F
I do not see the bargain. Especially when my lab work still left me with a $78 bill.
Oh and then YOU get to find a MediCare Drug Plan. Good luck with that. Another rip off.

    Medical Care covered.
    No maybe. No co-payments.
    Just cover it.
    Keep it simple.
No explanation of benefits with each billing because it is covered.
Costs balanced with less wasteful administration. If still too much, throw in one Raptor.

Hahahaha! Even the leftist MSM has occasionally touched on her periodic episodes of increasingly severe facial ticks, mouth twitches, and random and disjointed sentences.

Let's see: 4.2% growth in GDP. Lowest unemployment in over 50 years. Lowest black unemployment....since this statistic has been recorded, same for hispanics. NATO members are paying their share of their defense. The military is being rebuilt. Regulations on businesses are being greatly cut back. The stock market is setting new highs. Hundreds of billions of dollars are being repatriated. The United States is energy independent and the world's biggest producer of natural gas and oil. Of all the nations of the world, only the USA that left the Paris Climate Accords had a year to date reduction of total carbon emissions. North Korea is beginning to behave. ISIS is almost gone.

That is just a short list of Trump's accomplishments.

    Well, lets see:
    1: Beat Hillary
    2: Cut taxes
    3: Gorsuch
    4: N Korea
    5: Economy booming
6: Drive liberals into apoplectic shock, daily.
    7: Kavanaugh

Looks like has -has- accomplished a few things.

No one gets treated for free, anywhere.
    Someone always pays.

Well, yes they pay but it's for coverage. Once it's paid for you can walk into the hospital for treatment for free.

My point being "so he can finally accomplish something" and the thought that he actually already has accomplished something are mutually exclusive.

Every industrialized nation in the world (except the US) has some form of single payer health care that covers all their citizens.

And, they ALL do it for less than we do.

You can rain praise on Venezuela all you want, but that's a different issue.

...and the world still envies the USA for our health care.

I believe in the free market system. Turn the medical professionals loose to compete and see what happens. I opine it would be better medicine, at a lower cost, and more of it.

There is a free market for health care in the US right now.

Yes, there are laws against crap medical practice. But, that's true throughout the world, too.

And, there are requirements saying that if you're going to cover someone for health care, you actually have to do that. That's what other countries do.

"There is a free market for health care in the US right now."

    Oh, BS!

Then why are there so few doctors and nurses? Why are there not Medics/Corpsmen to augment Doctors and Nurses? Why can't insurance companies sell insurance across state lines? Why isn't there tort reform in the medical industry? Here's a question to try to answer: Why is so difficult to sue a lawyer for malpractice?

There is no free market medical industry in the USA. There use to be, in the late 40's, 50's and early 60's.

Some of those have to do with the market.

Insurance CAN sell insurance across state lines in a number of cases at least. The problem is that insurance companies have state specific work to do - assembling networks of providers, for example. In the end, its unusual for selling across state lines to be an advantage.

Are you referring to difficulty in suing doctors? Lawyers are a different issue, I think.

The systems in place in the decades you mentioned had serious problems that we keep trying to fix.

All other countries have found that single payer type systems are cheaper and deliver quality health care to all citizens. But, we keep thinking that insurance companies are going to take care of us - instead of working to maximize corporate profit - like they are supposed to do.
