What do you think about "World Government"

A world government is an excellent idea, but only if it's people thought more or less the same. However, humans are far too divided socially, psychologically, and ideologically for this to ever happen.
I don't so much care for world government exactly, I would rather live in a nation or join a small group who shared my beliefs and had the ability to erradicate the other opinions.
