What, exactly, is socialism? Again this discussion seems necessary.

Prager is Dennis Prager. He hosts a series of conservative videos that he call Prager U. Some are nonsense, some are ok.

Obviously, he doesn't know you are a communist.

Socialism is what your call it up until the inevitable point where you run out of other people's money, after that, it's called communism.

Obviously false.
2) Yes, escaping poverty requires toil, and opportunity.
And a lot more of them if you don't have justice.
Nope. Wrong again. They already had access to self-restraint, diligence, commitment and patience in their own countries, but stayed poor.
3) I never said it was easy. I'm the one who constantly says it's sheer and unadulterated hard work.
Because you want to blame the victims for not working and scrimping and toiling hard enough.
I.e., if you are strong enough to run the race while carrying the parasite on your back.
It's a plain fact.
So I am right.
Sometimes.

Why do you think it is the victims' responsibility to overcome injustice, rather than your responsibility to oppose it?
As they say in Japan, "It's mirror time!"

Thanks for that info. I'm guessing Prager is American?

Yeah, it's a common problem. When the only 'socialism' you've ever known is middle-class poseurs talking about equality, you're going to be mystified (and often, oddly, angered) by the real thing.

Mirror time.
LOL! Of course Marxists have "offered an explanation": the same wrong "explanation" they offer for everything.
They don't try, because it has nothing to do with the topic.
As long as your definition of economic rent is incorrect and worthless.
I.e., more brain-dead Marxist gibberish.
I've already proved I understand it incomparably better than you.

Seriously? They did not have the OPPORTUNITIES and FREEDOMS we take for granted, in their own countries. Which is precisely why they migrate to the West - to access our opportunities and freedoms.

Are you really pretending you don't know this? Or just hoping no one else does?

What injustice is being visited upon Asian Americans (the most successful people in that nation, currently)?

So you admit it is opportunity and freedom that enable them to prosper, and not the "self-restraint, diligence, commitment and patience" they already had plenty of in their own countries.
You are the one pretending not to know it, as I just proved to you.

Oh, you mean the privilege of being actively discriminated against in education? Racism?

What privilege are you referring to?

That's a minor one.
The usual: land titles, bank licenses, IP monopolies, broadcast spectrum allocations, oil and mineral rights, etc. The same privileges that the rest of us suffer from.

Are you actually suggesting that opportunity is anything other than a tool? A tool only works if you apply self-restraint, diligence, commitment, and patience' to it. If you don't apply those efforts, the tool hangs in the shed doing nothing.

And you're still hoping no one notices that these migrants come from places where there are no tools. Again - that's WHY they come here.

So Asian American families have oil and mineral rights now? Oil wells in the backyard or something? What TF are you talking about?

The bile is the only time you break free from your Georgist straight jacket?

Its amusing that you attack classical economics in your effort to attack Marxism. You just forgot to provide a grown up attack. Why can Marxists explain discrimination, with the empirical process confirming the logic of their application of classical bargaining power? Is it just a "happy" accident?

Classical economics was bad enough, but Marxism is a giant step backward from it.
Beneath contempt.
Who cares? Discrimination is a triviality compared to privilege. That's why you are trying to pretend it is relevant.
Sure. A broken clock is right twice a day.

LOL! You are the one who just reversed polarity, champ. You asked me what injustice was being visited on Asian Americans. I said privilege. You asked what privilege. I identified the main ones, which include oil and mineral rights. Now you are asking me if the victims of oil and mineral rights are the ones who have the oil and mineral rights. You lost track of your own nonsense and totally reversed your direction.

GET IT???

It's not a tool. It's something you can use tools on.
Garbage. It works if you use it.
Garbage. It works when you use it.
Again, that's just nonsense. There are lots of tools, just lack of opportunity to use them for one's own benefit.
Again, no, it is not.

None of that made any sense. You're just jamming your fingers in your ears now.

You know I'm right, but your determination to protect your ideologically preferred people from the consequences of their own choices, is too berserker to hold a rational dialogue.

DUH!

It's called land privilege! Why do you think it's called Asia?

Two aspects here. First, you advertise how your replies are devoid of any economic critique. You go for infantile 'they're wrong, cos I say they are' foot stamping, rather than any valid critique of either Marxist discrimination theory or the empirical evidence in support. Second, you confirm that you really aren't interested in ending injustices. Calling discrimination a triviality, when it ruins lives, shows your hypocrisy. Try not to respond with just bile interspersed with Georgist soundbites. Genuine economic comment please! ;)

Uhh... Are you serious?

You start to lose track, or already completely lost it:
bringiton stays on track, as usual (he gives you some benefit of the doubt):
By now you have most definitely lost track:
That's what it's like having a conversation with you. It's not always quite as discernable for the reader as this time.

Technically there was no economic content in your post. Are you trying to replicate bringiton's approach?
