    I have a Ruger 10-22 that I bought 3 years ago.

Its a great gun. Wood stock.

I owned a Mossberg 500 but sold it as I wasn't really using it and my gun range said no more using shotguns as they tare apart the target things.

The 10-22 is a fine rifle, but your mossburg is the superior home defense weapon. I have a Mossburg TR500 that I keep handy, for that purpose.

home defense is not my concern, as my neighborhood is very safe, my building even safer, and my doorlock even safer.

now question: what is the point of the teeth on the end of that barrel?

i always assumed it was to hold it against a door to blow it in.

gave my hunting guns to my son as I no longer hunt. Am not paranoid so have no need for self defense type guns.

Your other thread seems to indicate you are not as safe as you think you are.
They call it a breech barrel, and you are correct, it is for blowing open (breeching) a door. I didn't need it, but this was the 500 model that was available for purchase at the time, so I got it.

Do you have a fire extinguisher? Do you wear seat belts? Motorcycle helmet? Homeowners insurance? Do any of these require 'paranoia' to be a good idea?

if I owned a house, I would have a shotgun.

home burglaries are a real problem. Nothing paranoid about having a shotgun at home for home defense.

I live in Louisiana and home burglaries aren't even a problem here except in the obvious sorts of neighborhoods.

don't own a home. seat belts yes. to have guns for self defense there should be a risk or need, around here there isn't. it is all about risk assessment.

Not going to say how many, but more than one. I have wanted a 10/22 for awhile and might pick one up someday at the right price, I like 22s, but I do have a Ruger Mini 14 with wood stock that I really like shooting. For a 22 I have three, a Marlin 39A Golden Mountie,a Russian Margolin Olympic target pistol and a little NAA revolver that is a blast to shoot, literally since you can also shoot 22 mag in it.

The Margolin is a gem though. You can really dial it in and it shoots very well.

Same gun used as a base in Star Wars.

I have a bunch of guns back home where they don't believe that you can just disregard the 2nd Amendment simply because you don't like it.

A few AK-47's, Mossburg 500, Glock .40 is all that I have left back home. I sold a bunch of my guns before moving to this foreign country inside of our own borders.

Now all I have is a plain ol registered shotgun that I bought when I got here for home defense. A gun that I will be promptly returning to the store the second I move from here.

No crime where you live at all? Must be a special gated community.

You must also keep your head in the sand. 2014 January through June, Baton Rouge, 27 homicides, 28 rapes, 426 robberies, 591 aggravated assaults, 1380 burglaries, 3404 larcenies, 261 motor thefts, and 77 arson. Nope, no crime there by golly. Amazing how sheltered some people are.

You know that because you buy from them? No minorities in your neighborhood that own guns?

Typing out sixty some guns would take too much time.

    My favorites:
Handgun: M&P. Just picked up an M&P9 full size and ordered the Apex forward set sear/flat trigger last night.
    Rifle: AR-15. Preferrably the rifle.
    Shotgun: Mossberg 590
Longrange: Savage 110FP in .300Winmag. Typically I shoot .5-.75MOA with my handloads.
    Historical: M1 Garand.

Taking any precautions about any remote chance of anything is therefore paranoid.

I don't smoke or leave the oven on unattended, so why would I need a fire extinguisher?

I have a nice Garand in the 6.0 million range, 1956, not national match, that has never been through an arsenal for rebuild.

this thread is about what guns people own.

instead, you use it to attack people who own firearms for self-defense, as "paranoid".

    stop derailing my thread.
