What, in your opinion, are the odds of a civil war in America in the next 10 years?

I'm not denigrating anyone. Engineering degrees lead to the design, test, manufacture and sale of THINGS. This leads to PROFITS so that those involved can do things like buy their own homes. That is the REAL FACT.

There are no "stolen wages" and such. Anyone can find themselves a brand name school like Cal Tech, MIT and such, apply, and get a degree in a hard science or engineering... maybe math. Then they can get a job which allows them to buy a nice home, get pay raises and bonuses and LIVE THE AMERICAN DREAM. Its really all up to each individual. Folks can sit on an internet forum and whine, cry and complain... or they can get out of that chair and get a meaningful degree and experience. The trades are a viable alternative too. Master electricians earn a LOT.

So its really quite simple. We can sit on the net whining and crying, blaming everyone but ourselves for low wages and miserable life. Or we can get up, get to school and solve our problem. I hope folks choose to work hard and solve their problems rather than wallow in self pity. I really do wish them luck. If they are looking at the military (a GREAT place to start!) I'd be more than willing to offer advice to help. When they are ready to join a great organization like Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop-Grumman, CUBIC, L-3 or similar... I can help too. I'm still well connected in such organizations and might be able to give them a good contact for them to pursue.

I am not whining about millenial fluffy degrees. They really don't mean much to me one way or another. But I can express my disdain for them. You know, like saying how nasty it is when someone picks their nose and eats it. That's how I view worthless college "degrees". I do have some skin in the game which gives me a right to express my opinion, since its my taxes that pay for their welfare and medical as they sit around whining about how they can't get a good job.

 

"Tertiary qualifications"? What's that? Reading and writing... are those "primary certifications"? Brushing your teeth and bathing? Are those "secondary qualifications"? Whining, crying and blaming others... are those "tertiary qualifications"?

 

Working hard to get a degree in "Women's Studies" (and similar) has great value... COMIC VALUE. LOL

OK, but let me offer, once again, to help you with advice if you decide to enlist. And if you want that better job, let me know... I can help with THAT too.

I have actually never heard the term "tertiary qualifications" before. I'm an engineer and Program Manager, not an HR type. So let me ask you... I have a BSEE and an MBA which apparently fit the bill. But I also hold some patents. Do THEY qualify? And I am a graduate of Jump School and Ranger School. Do THEY qualify? How about things like the Field Artillery Basic and Advanced Courses and the Command and General Staff College? I only ask because I never heard the HR term before. In any case, have a good weekend!

A year ago we saw how capable and organized Antifa and BLM were to wage war. They practiced burning cities from NY to LA to Kenosha to Minneapolis and more under the guise of protesting the death of a black man. It was just practice for them. The real battle will be their struggle for socialism against the traditional free market society.
There really cannot be a "war". The logistics requirements for fielding a modern Army could never be met by a split and fractured USA. But the chaos and violence could get overwhelming. What a fantastic opportunity for China or Russia to step in and grab the victory over the USA they have sought for so long.
