I am retired. I was a master of many building trades and was loved by many of my customers and got screwed by some of them. My work was always 1st class but I never made much money because I am a socialist wimp who often did free work for people I felt sorry for.

I learned that the rich were the ones who played dirty pool. My best customers were proles like me.

However, I sleep well at night with a clear conscience of never ripping anybody off.

I used to joke around and tell people I worked in a clock factory cleaning bird poop out of cuckoo clocks.

I've worked in construction since 2004. I do every trade but try to keep off electrics and some plumbing. I'm fully trained bricklayer.

I prefer to manage projects as opposed to being on the tools. Hopefully the next large construction job is £1.2m. I'm also part qualified accountant so I do my own HMRC returns and accounts. I've also worked in retail for 15 years, managing stores with up to 24 staff for 7 years.

I decided to leave and retrain into the construction industry.
