Is there a law known to be in existence within any lawful jurisdiction within the entire world that forbids the practice of some form of 'Religion', whether that religion be Monotheistic, polytheistic, Atheistic, Agnostic or any other assemblage that might be construed as a 'religion'?

In other words, if one philosophy (most religions are forms of philosophy) demands the adherence to a particular set of philosophy(ies), is there a law that can require that same philosophy to abandon those teachings and take up the requirements of another philosophy for the sake of holding a conversation or discussion?

Well, that is a part of a set of religious laws and the practice of that would be at least a partial practice of a religion.. so I think that one would probably not fit the bill in answering the question. Thanks anyway.

Members of the Christian Identity movement are not allowed to practice racial segregation or discrimination in most instances though they may believe those things are right.

Sharia and all Islamic law prohibits any religious expression but Islam punishable by death.

Your Goebbels quote is erroneous...an awesome example of how if you tell the same lie over and over it can become truth. Another example: Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord

That is not a ban against 'religion' or a prohibition against 'religion'.

Religions are merely sets of beliefs or practices with a certain mystical flavor.

Also, did you notice that the way you stated the original question, such a law is literally impossible? If you define atheism as a religion, then any ban on religion is actually allowing the religion of atheism. So such a ban on religion, as you defined it, is impossible.

Well, here in the united States and for the purposes of supporting the 1st Amendment, Atheism is a Religion... I am merely adhering to the law of the land and giving recognition where recognition is lawfully due.

I don't know kmisho: your private definition does not quite match that of a standard dictionary listing... ie...

    "re·li·gion (ri lij′ən)

    noun

    1.
    1. belief in a divine or superhuman power or powers to be obeyed and worshiped as the creator(s) and ruler(s) of the universe
    2. expression of such a belief in conduct and ritual
    2.
    1. any specific system of belief and worship, often involving a code of ethics and a philosophy: the Christian religion, the Buddhist religion, etc.
    2. any system of beliefs, practices, ethical values, etc. resembling, suggestive of, or likened to such a system: humanism as a religion
    3. the state or way of life of a person in a monastery, convent, etc.
    4. any object of conscientious regard and pursuit"

However,,, you did also use the term "mystical". Which of the following definitions of "mystical" do you prefer to use in clarifying your intended use?

    "mys·ti·cal (mĭsˈtĭ-kəl)
    adjective

    1. Of or having a spiritual reality or import not apparent to the intelligence or senses.
    2. Of, relating to, or stemming from direct communion with ultimate reality or God: a mystical religion.
    3. Enigmatic; obscure: mystical theories about the securities market.
    4. Of or relating to mystic rites or practices.
    5. Unintelligible; cryptic."

And how does any of that relate to the topic of identifying a law which obligates the abandoning of religion?

Twisted use of logic on your part. Practicing the religion "command law"[as you describe it] is not abandoning the religion. Also take note, the specific law you cite is "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." Are you now becoming a true Christian where you are giving consideration to the law as stated in the Ten Commandments? You testify of the validity of that law, and if you testify of the validity of that law, then you also testify to the validity of the authorship of that law,,,, ie... God. If you deny that God wrote that law, then you deny the validity of that law.

In the US? None. We live in a free society where the practice of religion is protected. Unfortunately, there is some controversy about government advertising religion. Personally, I think Government employees should have every right to pray or display religious symbols.

I only disagree with forcing people to adhere to religion, not the practice of it.

I agree with you that in the US, there is no law that requires the abandoning of religion.

When you speak of 'forcing people to adhere to religion', are you considering religion to be limited to the conventional thoughts of worshiping some deity?

the thread is "what law obligates the abandoment of religion?"

I said the law (command) of no false witness.

Do yu not like my scope and humor?

    <<< Mod Edit: Flamebaiting >>>
I was reading from what mark said jesus said per se.........

    18And Jesus said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good except One -- God;

19 the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Thou mayest not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.'

i was observing the new version, you were representing the jewish one.

    apparently you aint christian

i know it was plagerized from egypt.

Moses was born in egypt, raised in pharoahs house since a 3month old child per torah (deut)....... his whole scope of knowledge and there of the beginning of abrahamic religions is from egypts libraries (if you using common sense)

the commands are from the 'ani'

    see the maat

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maat#42_Negative_Confessions_.28Papyrus_of_Ani.29

what version of the bible do yu read?

That is 90+% correct but not quite 100%... the thread is about "what law obligates the abandonment of religion?" The thread is definitely not about "humor". Your suggestion, accepted as a part of a/the law, does not require the abandonment of religion. Abandonment, as a result of that 'law', is only brought about by rationalism, and rationalism is an abandonment of the religion. That law, does not specify within the body of that law, what should be done, in this temporal life, with the offenders of that 'law'.

Does it make a difference with regard to this thread, or are you attempting to establish a bait for the purpose of flaming?

OK. What point is that suppose to make in regards to the thread? None of those things which Jesus said, and you have quoted, tell anyone to abandon their religion. Why are you so focused on taking this thread 'off-topic'?

Did you not pay attention to the opening remark of Jesus, "19 the commands thou hast known:..."? Jesus spake of the same laws that Moses delivered on the tablets of stone. So again, what is your point and why do you suggest that this is a new version of the old?

Another personal attack? Who are you to sit in judgment? Have you declared yourself to be God the Creator?

Oh! So you witnessed this alleged act of theft?

    Once again, you move 'off-topic'.

    OFF TOPIC

Depends on where I am at during a particular reading session. Again, what does that have to do with the topic of this thread? You seem to be determined to take this thread "off-topic".

Wrong! I can show you where agents of government are authorized by law to fabricate evidence to justify a conviction. So much for your theory.

Again, your claim is proven false, and subsequently cannot cause the abandonment of 'religion'.
So now you have moved from the mere language of personal attacks to personal threats. Interesting.

Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky, shattered goal fills the soul with a ruthless cry Stranger now are his eyes to this mystery, hears the silence so loud Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be. Now they see what well be blinded eyes to see...
