The Bible calls for death for the false prophet. In our recent election, countless Christian leaders claimed they had directly received from God that Trump would win in a landslide, but that is not the case. Are all those Christian leaders false prophets, and if not, why not? I'm not talking about the ones who said they thought Trump would win, Anyone is allowed to have their own beliefs for what might happen, but to declare on God's authority that a certain outcome is to be expected is a totally different thing. What say you? What makes a false prophet, and why shouldn't all those rich TV preachers be labeled as false prophets?

If you teach blasphemies against the Holy Spirit
I'd say that's the real meaning of the False Prophet.

The opposite of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Comforter/Holy Spirit
are Satan, Antichrist, and False Prophet.

So whatever the False Prophet is should be the opposite of the Holy Spirit.

If you take the Holy Spirit to mean Words of Healing and Comfort by Forgiveness and reconciliation,
then the opposite of Forgiveness and Healing is UNFORGIVENESS and WAR.

If you take the Holy Spirit to mean the Spirit of Truth, which unites and sets people free spiritually,
then the opposite is spreading lies and fraud that DIVIDE and ENSLAVE people.

So again, hate speech incites ill will, unforgiveness and war.
False religion and teaching that turns people AGAINST the truth,
AGAINST each other, AGAINST restorative justice and peace,
and foments RETRIBUTIVE JUSTICE AND WAR
are the OPPOSITE of Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit
that bring Justice with Mercy and Peace.

    ====================================
    The Bible says:

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

    ====================================

Jesus Christ called the Holy Spirit "Spirit of Truth" (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13) and warned us, "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men" (Matthew 12:31).

A false prophet is anyone that's not YOUR prophet from your religion. All of them, then.

LOL!! So I see you have a "formula" to measure the Spirit and things spiritual.

I don't know of anyone in the past 2000 years who asserted that the Holy Spirit was "words" of any kind.

The bible describes what the Holy Spirit is and does.
2 Corin 3:17-18 (NASB) - Now the Lord is the Spirit

John 16: 12-13 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth"

But to the mind of the modern natural man, it's ALL about mind and so it remains in the world and OF the world.

The admonition of "speaking against the Holy Spirit" means concluding, believing, and/or saying that something received of the Holy Spirit was not of the Holy Spirit but was of Satan. Many do that. For example, when they turn within in silence and receptivity to the Spirit, and the thought of "Christ within" suddenly appears to their awareness and they reject it as "from Satan", they have committed the "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit". This is just one of many examples of rejection of what is received of the Spirit. And the bible says that this will not be "forgiven", meaning that person will be unable to progress any farther in the Spirit as long as they persist in such blasphemy because the very job of the Holy Spirit is to help and guide us in purification from worldliness! They must "repent". They must change their mind about such things and TRUST. But they often refuse to because they don't actually believe that if they prepare for opening to the Spirit by praying for protection from evil and for guidance, that the Spirit will protect them. They think THEY must protect themselves by trust their impure mind. They think the Spirit would step aside and say to "Satan" ... "have your way with him, Satan!"

OK, but more specifically, the God of the Bible would never lie to his believers. What of the religious leaders who claim God given divine knowledge of upcoming events when their prophecies turn out to be false? God didn't give the false information. Would a person such as that be a false prophet?

I would say that those people who claim to speak to God are not really Cristians.

Yup. St. John of the Cross, Meistr Eckhart, St. Catherine of Sienna, St. Cathering of Genoa, Dionysius, St. Francis of Assisi, Julian of Norwich, St. Teresa of Avila, Mme Jeanne Guyon, and Fr. Thomas Keating. Yup. They are all "not really Cristians(sic)". And those are just a few. There are a couple of hundred more but I only listed those whom you may have a chance of recognizing.

It would be accurate in this case as a Christian is defined by their actions, not by simply claiming to be one.

I am sure you are aware of how filled with hypocrisy religion is.

You may be impressed with their Titles but God is not.

I can only repeat what He has said through the Bible.

Ok, but I still have no idea what you are talking about because I doubt you will find anyone claiming Trump was going to win and also find them in the Bible as you are asking me to do.

Apparently that is only funny to you, the rest of us consider it strange.

You know EXACTLY what I'm saying. Everyone does.

Trump has nothing to do with the conversation we were having. You refused to complete that conversation. Instead you tried to distract me from it because you were cornered by your own words.

But there are lots of examples of TV preachers who claimed God gave them divine knowledge of the election outcome. Obviously that was not tue. Are those TV preachers false prophets or not? Why?

Obviously they lied but I am not sure if they are prophets.
